ABOUT THE COLLECTION
The Bitcoin Shrooms are a collection of 210 pieces of art inscribed on the bitcoin blockchain and represented by serialized satoshis or "ordinals". Shroomers are notorious for valuing immutability over whimsical change, honest work over insider's privilege, freedom over censorship, decentralization over centralized control. They're also known for their unmatched knowledge of 90's American rap and love for Jessica Fletcher
CHRONOLOGY:
October 2022: the Bitcoin Shrooms are born, their birth certificate permanently etched on the timechain
Blockheight 772919: the first Bitcoin Shrooms inscription is published (#19 overall)
Blockheight 773778: the whole collection is published as a list of hashes, since the shrooms are notoriously impatient and couldn't wait for ord beta to be released

“The Bitcoin Shrooms collection is a pixelated recap of the first 13 years of Bitcoin, a homage to the 8-bit style of art that expresses a slight nostalgia for the 90s, a way to soil 10s of thousands of SSDs spread across the world with my art (->next level cyber-vandalism), a tool to raise awareness about Bitcoin and what I personally view as its core principles, an ironic way to vent at what I see as its annoying pop elements and aberrations. it is a thank you to those I worked with and learned from, to those who are not around anymore but whose name should not be forgotten. it is knowledge condensed and a journey for the curious.”

The Protoshrooms are a 12-piece precursor collection inscribed in the first 50 inscriptions by Shroomtoshi to highlight and promote the 210-piece Bitcoin Shrooms collection.
