> So you or one of your friends has decided to take the leap? The first question on all your friends’ minds is, where are we going to have the bachelor party? You can hear everyone quoting movies and saying everything that happens in Vegas…blah, blah, blah. That is all well and good, but let’s just see how much fun we can have in our own backyard here in Orlando. The potential for waking up with a half empty tub of butter, a unicycle, a small donkey and a passed out clown with a frowney face is still there if you wanna go that route. But if it was my job as best man to throw the bachelor party in Orlando this would be how it went down. First off, if we have the fellas flying in from out of town we have to set up a home base. The Grand Bohemian Hotel makes the perfect home base for the evening ahead. Not only is it a swanky place to stay, it is in the heart of downtown. After getting the troops together we start our evening at ONE80 Grey Goose Lounge. It is the perfect place to look down on downtown Orlando and make our plan of attack. It also allows us to imagine the night of the debauchery that lies at our feet as we help

our friend make this night one to remember before the big leap. The ability to sit in VIP and have bottle service is sure to set this evening on the correct path. It is time for us to descend on “The City Beautiful.” There are many options downtown but one of my favorites is Rok Room. It has a very chic look while the music is exactly what you think it would be. The rock music is mixed in with the style that this place exudes and is seamless. It is important for the bachelor to let go and unwind with his buddies, and this place allows just that. Temptation may come in droves with the ladies that walk in thru that door but I am sure our bachelor is steadfast. If lounge hopping is the plan then there is no shortage of places to go. May I recommend Club 23, Ember or Stardust Lounge. Any of these places will take great care of you and the eye candy is never ending, hands off bachelor. If the mode for the night is drinking and full on craziness then I recommend Mako’s to set the tone. Loud, packed and plenty of booze flowing is the theme here. Oh and the girls working there wearing practically nothing will help guarantee your buddy is

getting all the ‘impure’ thoughts out of the way. If rubbing elbows with people at local watering holes is on the agenda then head To Casey’s or Latitudes rooftop bar. As the night progresses towards the haze and drunken toasts of congratulations and impending doom for the soon to be hitched, plan the ‘wind down’ wisely. While many bachelor parties will have thoughts of strip clubs and dancers dancing in their heads, not a bad thing, however, I have an alternative. It is time to reflect on times had and storytelling with this intimate group of friends. The Bösendorfer Lounge will make a good ending to the night. The weekend usually has the place filled with the sounds of acid jazz from some top-notch DJs. This is of course allows you to stumble courageously back up to your room, or somebody’s room at least. This night is just an opinion of one barfly. If you still need to wake up and wonder why that frowney-faced clown is sleeping on the floor while you wear one of his big red shoes and ponder what the hell happened?! That is your prerogative. Just remember all the fun and memories of stories to come – it’s all good. <
