KITCHEN&BATH Turn of the Century, Turn of the Tap

Like a vintage treasure rediscovered, the Artifacts faucet collection by Kohler brings turn-of-the-century-style into modern day kitchens. According to Amanda Fedyck, professional consultant for The Ensuite, traditional-style faucets are gaining in popularity, and the options with Artifacts allow customers to really customize their look. Available in four finishes to complete any style, faucets can also be designed with a variety of spouts for kitchen and bar applications - from a single-hole pull down, to a two-hole swing spout, to a gentleman’s bar sink faucet. Functionally, the series also provides a variety of unique sprays exclusive to Kohler, such as the Sweep Spray for a forceful spray or the BerrySoft spray, great for washing produce, in addition to the aerated spray. All faucets feature premium metal construction and ceramic disk cartridges for lasting performance, and the spray head locks in tightly with a magnetic docking system. Fedyck states a great complement to the line of faucets are Kohler’s cast iron sinks. The Whitehaven apron-front sink and the Napa under-mount bar sink are made of cast iron, which is guaranteed for life against chips, cracks, and burns. And with 16 colour options, they fit both modern and traditional kitchens. The Ensuite has many product options on display, and their knowledgeable team can work with customers to find the perfect choice for their home.

Modern Minimalism

We’ve all heard that less is more but this Euro-style kitchen definitely makes minimalism ring true. The impeccable lacquered finish of the Aster Cucine doors creates uninterrupted sightlines to the hammered stainless steel backsplash. Completing the focal point, ulivo, an exotic olive wood veneer, is book matched to carry the grain through the flat panel doors. The wood reappears as an L-shaped accent bordering the island’s tempered glass countertop with built-in sink. Set in the counter against the wall, the cooktop is almost imperceptible. It’s the concealment of functional elements that creates the polished, uncluttered look of the space. “Although it’s a kitchen, it doesn’t read as a kitchen,” says Artur, owner of m-concept. “Everything is hidden away.” Unique hardware technology allows the doors to swing open and slide aside, exposing the refrigerator, wall oven and organizers, all from Aster Cucine’s vast selection. Artur notes that m-concept can completely redesign a space, including wall reemoval. Once finalized, plans are sent to Italy for manufacturing. From design to installation, the process takes about three months. At an accessible price-point, m-concept offers seven different lines of cabinetry in various styles. The company’s showroom features constantly changing full kitchen displays, as well as everything to complement the bathrooms and closets they also design. “We are a one-stop shop for the modern home,” says Artur.
