ou’ve got the dress, booked the venue and taste tested all the cake options. While there are still a billion and one things left to plan, your bridal beauty prep is something you’re going to want to make time for. Whether you go all out or keep it low-key, this comprehensive guide will help you avoid any last minute beauty fiascos while you’re busy glowing your way through your “I dos”.

6 Months Before If you’re thinking about growing out your hair or experimenting with a new colour, now’s the time to run through the plan with your stylist. While we’ve all dreamt of rocking an edgy pixie cut à la Anne Hathaway on our wedding day, it is probably safest to stick to what you know. Opt for a look that will make you feel like the best version of yourself. Now’s the time to make consultations with potential makeup artists, too. Take pictures of your makeup and actually analyse them to help you select a style that accentuates the parts of your face that you love, without overdoing it.

3 Months Before Get serious about skincare. The occasional cleanse here, and less-than-enthusiastic scrub there, is simply not going to cut it. Even if you’re fairly happy with your skin, now’s the time to implement a consistent regime. Book in for a gentle peel and start using a brightening compound with vitamin C to bring out that elusive glow. Consider consulting an expert dermatologist or making monthly facial appointments if you’d like to have dark spots and pigmentation treated.

STAFF PICK:

Infused with coconut, rose hip and jojoba, this gradual tan doubles as deep hydration.

1 Month Before Invest in a Keratin treatment for your hair to up the shine factor, get your eyebrows professionally shaped and get that tan situation sorted. Opting for a spray tan just before your wedding can be risky. Like a knight in shining armour, this is where gradual tanners come to the rescue. Start now so you have time to figure out exactly how often you need to apply gradual tan to achieve perfect sun-kissed skin. If you’re considering eyelash extensions, now’s the time. With four weeks to go, you’ll have time to adjust the length and volume if necessary before getting them retouched a few days before your bridal moment.
