ffering more than 20 years experience in the hospitality industry, Walsh was previously the coowner of the successful Goldfish Bar and Restaurant in the New South Wales Hunter Valley, and previous co-creator and Ben Walsh owner of the multi award winning Goldfish Bar in Kings Cross Sydney. His passion for the art of cocktail creation is evident in his resume of industry accolades and his history of hospitality honours, which include: Third at the World Mixology Masters in Amsterdam, winner of the Glenfiddich Untouchables media award, winner of the Suntory Australia Bartender of the Year and second at the Australian Bartender of the Year Awards. Miss Monneypenny’s is Walsh’s first solo operation, he and his lovable Doberman Arnold relocated to the Sunshine Coast to oversee all aspects of the venture, from the complete re-build which commenced in July, through to design and cocktail and menu creation. “I’ve been holidaying in Noosa for years and have many friends in the area. It really is a spectacular place and I’m proud to call it my new home.” He added, “I’m especially looking forward to showcasing the spectacular local fresh produce of the area in our Queensland inspired signature cocktails. That same produce is featured prominently in our sharing plates, which change frequently and as particular ingredients come into season.” “Consistency and creativity are essential ingredients in our operation. Our cocktail and dining menus are designed to inspire and intrigue, however we still appreciate the simple joy of a perfectly chilled beer and a traditional Napoli pizza.” “We’ve been fastidious about balancing cutting edge with simple classics in our menu offerings,” ends Walsh. A handpicked team of mixology maestro’s ensures Miss Moneypenny’s delivers a unique and impeccable offering to the market. Restaurant Manager James Macqueen and a talented kitchen brigade led by Executive Chef Wayd Bailey and Head Chef Ben Swinbourne, all masters of their craft, and further evidence Walsh has selected an impeccable team to represent his venture. Miss Moneypenny’s is proving a popular haunt with locals and tourists since opening its doors last month.
