COLOR GUIDE: THE VEGAN COLOR WAY
This guide has the purpose of giving hairdressers 4 pieces of key technical information to get to know the new benefits of Echos Color performances and, at the same time. The aim is helping both those who use the new Echos Color for the first time:

The color cream by Echos Color increases the coverage power of every nuance of the color range. Improved in terms of shine and brightness, it adds intensity and duration to all nuances, from natural to more intense trendy ones, thanks to the power of the new colors used and to a higher concentration.
Formulated without Paraphenylenediamine and Resorcinol, through new active ingredients antioxidant Green Tea Extract, revitalising Date Oil and polishing Tsubaki Oil, the hair structure is protected during the entire color process leaving the hair shiny and neat. PURE NATURALS
Characteristics:
Natural, shiny and vibrant with a higher concentration of colors and new formula without PPD and Resorcinol with 100% coverage of grey hair. The reflect is natural, which makes the color always shiny, enveloping and consistent with the reference swatch. The color is faithful to the tone and reflect also with challenging grey hair.
Specific use:
In general, the new Pure Naturals, used as individual nuance, offer a full-bodied and defined color with a natural look, especially on grey hair, when they are mixed with a 1:1.5 ratio with Echos Oxy, for example 50g 5.0 + 75g 20 vol 35 processing time. The Natural tone ensures an even and solid coverage, even in formulas with fashion reflects, for those who want perfect coverage and a base colour with less striking tones even with fashion nuances:
- 40% grey hair, desired colour 6.43: 40g 6.43 + 10g 6.0 + 75g Echos Oxy 20 vol
- 60% grey hair, desired colour 6.43: 35g 6.43 + 15g 6.0 + 75g Echos Oxy 20 vol
- 100% grey hair, desired colour 6.43: 30g 6.43 + 20g 6.0 + 75g Echos Oxy 20 vol
Special situations:
In some cases grey hair can be very difficult to cover, especially if it is coarse and resistant to color. In these cases you can use the following formulas that are able to easily solve even the most challenging situations:
1) Resistant grey hair, , technique reducing the amount of hydrogen peroxide, example: 50g 6.0 + 60g 20 vol. In this case, reducing the amount of hydrogen peroxide by 15g is enough to solve this type of problem achieving full and very even coverage that is always shiny and vibrant.
2) Coarse resistant grey hair, technique reducing the amount of hydrogen peroxide with an increase of its volumes, example: 50g 6.0 + 50g 30 vol. This solution with a 1:1 mixing ratio always uses hydrogen peroxide at 30 Vol. instead of 20 Vol.. It also solves the most challenging coverage situations of resistant grey hair without changing color formulas or processing times.
3) Always apply the above described formulas to regrowth and never to lengths and ends.
Characteristics:
This new family of Extra Intense Naturals ensures professionals a coverage result that is always perfect and intense, also in the most challenging situations of coarse thick and resistant grey hair. This means that you can always obtain reliable results leaving room for the creativity of colorists who don’t need to worry about any technical hurdles.
Specific use:
The new Extra Intense Naturals are very simple to use in all those situations where covering resistant grey hair is challenging or when you want a very intense and deep color.
Mixing ratio 1:1.5 with Echos Oxy, for example 50g 5.0 + 75g 20 Vol. 35 minutes’ processing time. Characterised by a slightly warm natural reflect, they give very vibrant and luminous shades.
- 100% Coarse thick resistant grey hair, desired color, 77.0: 50g 77.0 + 75g Echos Oxy 20 Vol.
Special situations:
When you want to combine this color with a trendy nuance to obtain coverage and reflect, use a smaller amount of Extra Intense Naturals in the formula:
1) 40 - 60 % coarse thick resistant hair, desired color 8.32: 10g 88.0 + 40g 8.32 + 75g 20 Vol.
2) 70 -100% coarse thick resistant hair, desired color 8.32: 15g 88.0 + 35g 8.32 + 75g 20 Vol.
Characteristics:
Vivid cold naturals with a high grey hair coverage power. The special cold neutral reflect of Ice Naturals ensures a color that is very similar to natural hair that has never been colored. Another interesting aspect of this type of naturals is their ability to even out mixed percentages of grey hair without color taking on undesired warm tones. High coverage
Specific use:
Particularly suitable for clients who want to cover grey hair with natural reflects and without warm tones. Ideal for women with mixed percentages of grey hair or who want to cover low percentages of grey hair keeping the original natural reflect as much as possible. In case of 100% grey hair a total coverage is achieved with very natural cold neutral reflects that do not turn greenish.
Special situations:
Grey hair with varying percentages easily take on warm reflects because of the oxidation of the melanins still present in areas with natural hair that is still dark.
1) 20-50% grey hair: use the nuances of Ice Naturals that are as similar as possible to the client’s base color, 1:1.5 with Echos Oxy at 20 Vol; use 10 Vol if hair is fine. This leads to a very natural result especially if the client wants a color that is as similar as possible to her hair base color.
2) Up to 100% grey hair: in this case you have a total coverage with a very natural, slightly cold reflect. In general, the effect is very pleasant especially if you want to recreate natural bases for subsequent lightening techniques such as Balayage and High Lightening. This reproduces the base effect of natural blondes.
3) Coverage combined with fashion nuances: Naturals .0 Ice are ideal to be mixed, as an additional covering base, with all fashion nuances that are essentially cold. Ideal for working on grey hair with fashion nuances like violet .22, mahogany .55, and cold nuances like .11, .7 Cold Brown, .32 Nude Beige, where you want to obtain perfect and consistent reflects, but with a high-performance coverage, for example 100% grey hair, desired color 5.22: 20g 5.0 Ice + 30g 5.22 + 75g Echos Oxy 20 Vol.
Characteristics:
Extremely cold nuances turning towards blue. This special series is ideal to obtain very shiny cold colors and is even more specific to neutralise / counteract too warm melanins that are naturally present in very thick and dark hair. Because of its high-performance coverage, pay attention to the very cold effect it may create on grey hair.
Specific use:
This special series must be used mixed with other natural nuances, cold naturals and also warm naturals, with the purpose of obtaining a natural color that never turns towards red or russet, especially in case of very thick and dark hair.
Special situations:
In case of hair with plenty of warm or red melanin, you can obtain very natural and never red results, some solutions based on the three most common situations are given below:
1) Natural base 4 coarse hair, desired color 6.0 neutral without red reflects: 20g 6.0 Ice + 30g 6.11 + 75g Echos Oxy 30 Vol.
2) Natural base 6 medium hair, desired color 9.0 neutral without yellow reflects: 10g 12/0 + 40g 9.11 + 75g Echos Oxy 40 Vol.
3) Natural base 5 medium hair, desired color 7.0 neutral cold without warm reflects: 30g 7.0 Ice + 20g 7.11 + 75g Echos Oxy 20 Vol.
Characteristics:
Cold brown nuance in this case means a new generation of warm cold hybrid fashion nuances. High-performance grey hair coverage also used on its own without the need of the natural base.
Specific use:
This specific color family is ideal for brown clients who love warm, but not red brown nuances
Special situations:
In case of hair with plenty of warm or red melanin, you obtain results that are deep warm but not red brown; in hair with natural tones and a lower presence of warm melanins, you obtain slightly colder, but not ash browns. In case of grey hair where you want to obtain a deep and compact coverage, mix it with the .0 Ice series, for example:
1) Natural base 5 with 60% grey hair, desired color 6.7 Cold: 15g 6.0 Ice + 35g 6.7 Cold + 75g Echos Oxy 20 Vol.
2) Natural base 4 coarse hair, desired color 5.7 Cold not red warm brown: 50g 5.7 Cold + 75g Echos Oxy 20 Vol.
Characteristics:
Warm brown nuance, thanks to the special reflect combination .72, Brown 80 % and Violet 20%, it ensures a warm and expressive brown with a light invisible violet reflect, but it also gives remarkable depth and intensity to the brown
Specific use:
The .72 series remains an icon of warm browns and is used especially on lengths and ends to give very expressive warm nuances applying, at the same time, a colder color on the base, for example .7 Cold Brown, to obtain a very intense deep brown.
Special situations:
In case of lightened hair, level 7-8 golden copper, you can carry out toning directly at 10 vol. to obtain warm and vibrant color results that enhance the contrast of tone on tone lightening techniques:
1) Base tone 7.43 alternated with 8.34 shades, desired color are tone on tone warm and enveloping reflects: mix 1:3, 30g 7.72 + 90g Echos Oxy 10 Vol., da 15 a 25 minutes of processing time.
2) Natural base 5 with 50% grey hair, desired color 5.72 with coverage: 50g 5.72 + 75g Echos Oxy 20 Vol.
Characteristics:
It is the brown nuance par excellence, it features very delicate warm shades rich of reflects. The color always looks very balanced between brown and gold.
Specific use:
The .7 Pure Brown series covers grey hair very well and is largely used by colorists to create base nuances in color techniques.
Special situations:
Ideal to darken bleached hair in a single step thanks to the combination of warm and natural pigments with a remarkable coverage performance that is bright and shiny:
1) Bleached base 9.3, desired color 6.7 even: 50g 6.7 + 75g Echos Oxy10 Vol.
2) Natural base 6 with 40% grey hair, desired color 7.7 with coverage: 50g 7.7+ 75g Echos Oxy 20 Vol.
Characteristics:
Nuances dedicated to blond that feature the shades that are the most used and appreciated by blonde clients who love natural warm, but not yellow tones.
Specific use:
The Sand and Nude Beige nuances are particularly simple to use both to lighten natural hair and to tone previously lightened hair. The .7 series is a very delicate and shiny warm sand, whereas the .32 Nude is a more hybrid Beige, cold/ warm Taupe and is part of the new concept nuances that easily match both warm and cold tones.
Special situations:
In case of grey hair the .7 Sand series ensures an excellent coverage with warm not excessive tones. The .32 Nude range also carries out an anti-brass action giving delicate beige reflects by eliminating the unwanted yellow from bleaching:

2)Bleached base level 9 golden, desired color 9 Beige: 50g 9.32 + 75g Echos Oxy 7 Vol.
Characteristics:
The .3 series is still one of the color families most used worldwide thanks to its golden warm characteristics; the new formula is even shinier and faithful to the color chart swatches.
Specific use:
Intense gold shades, perfectly calibrated to cover grey hair and to give golden reflects ranging from deep to very light.
Special situations:
Gives shine to dull colors and brightens up lightened blonds with perfect golden reflects. Ideal for re-pigmenting heavily bleached hair:
1) Bleached base 10, desired color 9 evenly golden: 1:2 40g 9.3 + 80g Echos Oxy 7 Vol.
2) Bleached base 10, desired color 6.0 even: re-pigmentation 1:3 con 20g 7.3 + 60g Echos Oxy 7 vol., 15 minutes processing time. Rinse, shampoo and dry, then apply 50g 6.0 + 75g Echos Oxy 10 Vol.
Characteristics:
The Copper Wood, Copper Gold and Pure Copper series is characterised by a very delicate and natural copper tone. The Pure Copper series is perfectly balanced and features a perfect copper without turning towards red.
Specific use:
Fashion nuances ideal for color techniques or to enrich Brown or Sand nuances giving copper shades that range from very delicate to more intense and defined.
Special situations:
The Copper Gold series perfectly features the natural copper results on all hair types. The Pure Copper series, thanks to its intensity and orange character, brightens up and intensifies faded or dull lengths and ends:
1) Cold natural base 6, desired color 8.34 even: 50g 8.34 + 75g Echos Oxy20 Vol.

Super intense reds with new technology of extra vibrant and long lasting colors.

Designed exclusively to perform at best, used as color for lightening, tone on tone or toning.
Special situations:
The .66 series ensures a deep and solid red also on dark bases, 6.666 contains a high percentage of direct colors that make it particularly intense and pure also on non-bleached bases:

2) Colored base 8.3, desired color 6.666 even: 50g 6.666 + 75g Echos Oxy 10vol.
Characteristics:
With the new extremely shiny and precise formula, Intense Orange Extra Copper nuances ensure ultra vibrant and shiny copper shades that do not turn towards red. The new Cold Copper 6.402 and 10.402 offer cold copper shades that turn towards rose, especially 10.402.
Specific use:
Designed exclusively to perform at best, used as color for lightening, tone on tone or toning.
Special situations:
The .44 series ensures a very intense Orange Copper ideal to be mixed with other color nuances, such as reds and golds, that offer colorists a very wide range of color solutions also on dark bases:

4) Natural base 5, desired color 6,402 tone on tone: 50g 6.402 + 75g Echos Oxy 10 Vol.
5) Base with lightenings at level 9-10: 50g 10.402 + 75g Echos Oxy 7 Vol.
Characteristics:
Pure violet and deep mahogany shades with a new 5.27 Mauve nuance express a range of timeless fashion nuances. These new formulas are characterised by very defined and consistent reflects, violet is particularly cold and intense thanks to a new generation of colors that make these nuances very performing and stable. The new 5.27 Mauve is the perfect color combination between warm brown and violet in an ideal compromise between fashion and naturalness.
Specific use:
Ideal to create base nuances with color techniques. To cover grey hair without using the natural base, they give full and defined reflects also on grey hair.
Special situations:
The mahogany series can be used to strengthen the coverage of grey hair if you want intense .66 reds. The violet series is excellent on natural bases also used for tone on tone colors:
1) Natural base 5 with 80% grey hair, desired color 6.66 intense: 20g 5.55g + 30g 6.66 + 75g Echos Oxy 20 Vol.
2) Natural base 4, desired color 4.22: 50g 4.22 + 75g Echos Oxy 10 Vol.
Characteristics:
9 extremely intense, but not dark fashion colors characterised by very pure reflects and one Clear color. This special range enables colorists to customise and create tailor made colors going beyond the typical limits of oxidation colors. The new Wisteria completes the range with an intense pastel lilac reflect that is shiny and expressive.
Specific use:
Designed to work in combination with all the nuances of the new color chart, to intensify, correct or change all the reflects of the range. Used as absolute nuance with the volume concentration that best suits the hair situation and the desired result, they offer performances with high color definition and the highest reliability to colorists. Characteristics:
4 new Super lighteners for very light blonds level 9-10 from a natural base 6. They work with a 1:2 mixing ratio, lightening up to 5 levels with oxygen peroxide at 40 Vol. The new reflects allow to choose the most appropriate anti-brass effect according to the hair type and desired target. They lighten exclusively natural hair.
Specific use:
Ideal to lighten the regrowth and keep Full Blonde effects with very light blonds and healthy hair. The nuances called Blond Extra Lift Result show the lightening result and the effect of neutralizing the residual yellow according to the tones of the relevant reflects. Ideal to obtain lightening also on natural lengths, to obtain natural and harmonious shades without the help of bleach. Nuance 12/0 does not contain color and can be used as a lightening booster with all the chart colors
Special situations:
Blond Extra Lifts give very light blonds ranging from warm to natural, up to cold naturals according to the initial natural color level:
1) Natural base 6, desired color 10.3: 30g 12/22 + 20g 12/0 + 100g Echos Oxy 40 Vol.
2) Natural base 6, desired color 10.0: 50g 12/22 + 100g Echos Oxy 40 Vol.
3) Natural base 6, desired color 10.0 Ice: 40g 12/11 + 10g 12/0 + 100g Echos Oxy 40 Vol.
4) Natural base 5, desired color 9.0: 40g 12/88 + 10g 12/0 + 100g Echos Oxy 40 Vol.
The results of the examples given above come from different tests carried out, however they cannot be considered absolute results since the variables of human hair and different ethnicities do not enable us to have 100% consistency. They are instead a reference guide.
Characteristics:
New Pure Blond series 11.12 and 11.72, new reflects that enable the control of unwanted yellow or the achievement of ice cold colors. Ideal for toning and lightening exclusively on natural hair. They share the characteristic of having a violet secondary reflect (.2) that determines a perfect control of yellow in lightening or toning both with cold blond and with neutral blond effects.
Specific use:
The Ice reflect is ideal when lightening natural hair and in toning lightened hair to obtain shiny and defined cold effects. The Ivory reflect has instead a delicate control of the hair warm melanins and gives creamy and very shiny reflects without exceeding in cold tones.
Special situations:
In case of grey hair coverage always mix with the Ice Naturals .0 Ice series. As anti-brass, they give reflects that range from natural cold to very cold offering the opportunity of being mixed with all the current blond nuances of Echos Color of level 9-10 to correct or emphasize the desired blond.
