A spirale, liberamente ispirato alla torre di Tatlin (il modello di legno è conservato al Beaubourg di Parigi), è un divano da centro stanza. Totem da salotto e per spazi pubblici, consente nuove modalità di seduta. La base di legno multistrati è dotata di piedi di metallo. La spirale, vera e propria opera d’ingegneria, è in acciaio modellato a stampo e poi sagomato. L’imbottitura è realizzata in poliuretano espanso, elastico e traspirante. E’ rivestito in velluto e, in alternativa su richiesta, con alcuni tessuti e pelli a campionario.

Loosely based on the Tatlin tower (a wooden model of which is on display at Beaubourg in Paris), this spiral sofa is a centrepiece for living rooms and public areas, a new form of seating. Its plywood base has metal feet and the spiral, a true work of engineering, is in moulded and wrought steel. The filling is in flexible and breathable polyurethane foam and the upholstery in velvet or on request other fabrics and leather from the fabric collection.

A clear homage to cartoon sofas, with its deliberately overstated round and ample shapes. The plywood frame has elastic straps for balanced springing and the feet are in wood. Its generous size means you can lie on it, using the wide, sprung armrests as a headrest. The filling is in flexible and breathable polyurethane foam and the seat cushions in Rollofil. With fully removable overs, it is upholstered in fabrics from the catalogue.

Con le sue forme generose e rotonde, volutamente enfatizzate, è un dichiarato omaggio ai divani dei fumetti. E’ dotato di struttura in legno multistrati, di cinghie elastiche per un equilibrato molleggio. I piedi sono in legno. Le sue ampie dimensioni consentono di sdraiarsi utilizzando i larghi braccioli, dotati di molleggio elastico, come poggiatesta. L’imbottitura è in poliuretano espanso, elastico e traspirante. I cuscini di seduta sono in Rollofil. Dotato di sottorivestimento, completamente sfoderabile, è rivestito ccon on tessuti a campionario.

E’ un sistema di sedute imbottite di forma organica, simili a corpi senza spina dorsale. Irregolari nel profilo, volutamente disarmoniche, propongono la bellezza inquietante dell’imperfezione. Offrono mediante semplici movimenti delle sedute, degli schienali e della palla/pouff diverse possibilità di seduta. Hanno la base di legno multistrati e lo schienale di metallo modellato manualmente. L’imbottitura è in poliuretano espanso a struttura cellulare per garantire una buona traspirabilità. I piedi sono di metallo cromato con finale antigraffio in alluminio e gomma e il rivestimento è in velluto Mohair.
Organically shaped padded seating, reminiscent of spineless bodies. With their irregular outline and deliberate asymmetry, theirs is a nervy, flawed beauty. Simple movements of the seats, backs and pouf/ball create different seating possibilities. Plywood base and back in hand-wrought metal, with filling in cellular polyurethane foam to ensure good breathability. The feet are in chromed metal with alluminium and rubber scratch-proof tips and the upholstery in mohair velvet.

IChantilly. The name speaks volumes. Like its creamy edible counterpart, Chantilly has two components: a soft, flowing exterior sustained by a rigid inner frame that rises to a flat leather-clad top. The satin upholstery is deliberately loose fitting. It flounces and cascades, soft and inviting, its folds highlighting the fabric’s sheen. The high back of this circular settee supports the nape of the neck - a cervical cushion reminiscent of 19th century models but without their rigidity and severity. Chantilly is the epitome of softness and sensuality, conjuring up a riot of images. Effortless folds and elegant sheen recall gowns by Valentino or Madeleine Vionnet; its voluptuous outline reminiscent of the curvaceous silhouette of Marilyn Monroe. Like lavish fashion, it triggers many a flight of fantasy. Like its name though, Chantilly also evokes the very physical sense of taste that captures perfectly the all-pervading materiality of Sempé’s new upholstered creation. Chantilly is the first creation to abandon respectable prêt-a-porter elegance for a stunning evening dress or slinky silk negligee - for comfort’s sake, but especially to seduce. Its assertive presence earmarks Chantilly as the centrepiece of any environment.

Il nome esprime con chiarezza la natura del pezzo, composto, come la crema Chantilly (panna e crema) di due elementi, uno più soffice e l’altro più consistente. All’interno c’è un’anima rigida che sostiene le onde di morbidezza, formando alla sommità un piano d’appoggio rivestito in cuoio. Il rivestimento in satin è volutamente lasco. Si appoggia, increspandosi delicatamente, per non comprimere la morbidezza, lasciando che il tessuto moltiplichi la sua luminosità tra le pieghe. La sagoma circolare e l’altezza dello schienale ricordano nella forma, modelli ottocenteschi, ma non nella sostanza: quelli erano rigidi, Chantilly, invece, è una nuvola di dolcezza e di sensualità. Suggerisce immagini erotiche; ricorda con le sue pieghe e i suoi luccichii gli abiti di Valentino o di Madeleine Vionnet; allude con le sue curve alla burrosa silouhette di Marilyn Monroe. Le analogie con la moda appartengono al viaggio immaginario che il prodotto suggerisce. Mentre il riferimento alla crema Chantilly rimanda al gusto, un senso immediato e pervasivo, che ben si presta a suggerire l’emozione offerta da questo nuovo genere d’imbottito. Il primo che, abbandonato il bon ton del prèt à porter, si veste da gran sera o con negligè di lucida seta, per accogliere, ma prima di tutto per sedurre. Con il suo portamento imperioso pare predestinato ad occupare la centralità dei luoghi.

The backs, with pivoting support in chromed steel, have patented rotation and catch/ release mechanisms. The feet are in chromed metal with aluminium and rubber tips and the filling has a flexible and breathable polyurethane foam base. The underlining is in white cotton backed with Dacron, the upholstery in leather or fabrics from the fabric collection with flat-fell seams. The covers are fully removable.

Made up of two units that combine to create different compositions. A metaphor of couples getting together and drawing apart, thanks to a patented system which allows movement of the backs and seats for extensive use and comfort potential, from traditional seating to the ultimate in relaxation. The backs, rotating to extend or close, delineate various types of seating, from straight to L-shaped, from chaise longue to extra bed and “face to face”. The freedom of movement allows the backs to recline at various angles to obtain different depths and a number of seating configurations. The two units have a mechanical locking system that secures the back to the seat. The base is in particleboard covered with a decorative and scratch-proof cellulosebased film bonded with melamine resin.
H/F l’Homme et la Femme
La base è in agglomerato di legno, rivestita con pellicola decorativa antigraffio a base cellulosica, fissata con resina melaminica. Gli schienali, dotati di supporto metallico girevole in acciaio cromato, sono corredati di meccanismi brevettati di rotazione e d’aggancio e sgancio. I piedi sono in metallo cromato con finale in alluminio e gomma. L’imbottitura è a base di poliuretano espanso elastico e traspirante. Ha sottorivestimento in cotone bianco accoppiato a Dacron, rivestimento in pelli o tessuti a campionario e ribattitura in punta d’ago. E’ completamente sfoderabile.

E’ costituito da due unità che, combinandosi, danno luogo a differenti configurazioni. Metafora della coppia che si unisce e si separa, grazie ad un sistema brevettato che consente il movimento degli schienali e delle sedute, moltiplica le sue prestazioni, offrendo molteplici possibilità di comfort, dalla seduta tradizionale al gran relax. Gli schienali, distendendosi, o raccogliendosi, per rotazione, disegnano differenti tipologie di sedute, da quella lineare, all’angolare, alla chaise longue, al letto di fortuna, al vis à vis. La libertà di movimento permette di posizionare gli schienali secondo diverse inclinazioni per ottenere differenti profondità e numerose modalità di seduta. Le due unità sono dotate di un bloccaggio meccanico che fissa lo schienale alla seduta.

A square-shaped module of two elements that recline thanks to a patented system. The compositions are developed by variously alternating the angles of slant (back and leg rest, back and right-hand element, back and left-hand element). A module similar to a large pouf can create armchairs, two or three-seater sofas or “face to face” layouts and, by grouping modules together, all the possible combinations, from traditional seating to the chaise longue and the bed configuration for stretching out. The structure is sandblasted and painted in silver. Feet are in brushed aluminium, with scratch-proof tips in aluminium and rubber. The filling is in flexible and breathable polyurethane, the back covers in Lycra and the upholstery in leather and fabrics from the fabric collection. Tables have the same basis; top is made of glass and painted in the colours of the collection.

E’ composto da quattro elementi autonomi di forma irregolare, tre poligoni e un quadrilatero, poggiati su piedini stampati in polipropilene e gomma. Accostandoli secondo i vari lati, è possibile ottenere un ampio numero di configurazioni. La sua componibilità, governata dalle leggi della geometria piana, è moltiplicabile in forma esponenziale. Le sagome prive di scocca e di qualsiasi supporto rigido, sono modellate per stampaggio in una miscela, coperta da brevetto internazionale, di Gellifoam e altre schiume, alcune delle quali comunemente usate in applicazioni aerospaziali che garantisce una speciale, quasi sensuale, morbidezza. Il sistema si completa con due schienali flessibili, di diversa dimensione, posizionabili a piacere. La loro aderenza è garantita da due dischi di speciale gomma termoformata, facilmente asportabili per il lavaggio. Le sagome di poliuretano, dove, grazie alla particolare morbidezza della miscela, si affonda, sono foderate con uno speciale tessuto elastico, che permette il ritorno della forma. Composed of four irregularly shaped, independent elements, three polygons and a quadrilateral, on moulded polypropylene and rubber feet. The elements can be placed together along the various sides to obtain myriad patterns with modularity, governed by the laws of plane geometry, multiplied exponentially. The shapes, without frame and any rigid support, are modelled by moulding a mixture, protected by an international patent, of Gellifoam and other foams, some of which are commonly used in aerospace applications, to ensure a special, almost sensual, softness. The range also includes two flexible backs, in different sizes, which can be positioned as required and joined together by means of two disks of special heat-formed rubber which can easily be removed for washing. The polyurethane shapes, pliant thanks to the extra softness of the mixture, are lined with a special stretch fabric that enables the shape to spring back. The covers, tight-fitting like a t-shirt, are fitted over the items and fastened, to adapt to t he ergonomic bending of the foam and Gellifoam mixture, by seams along the vertical sides only of the various elements. Like a proper suit, the upholstery has been made up in a range of fabrics designed by Monica Mazzei and produced exclusively for Edra.

Wrap-around armchair with steel frame painted with epoxy powders. Several days’ manual work is required to build the seat, together with high expertise for the weaving. The five hundred metres of special rope with an acrylic core, covered in cotton, are first woven onto the frame to create a structure and then plaited by consecutive overlapping, leaving sufficient surplus to form a kind of random weave which creates an unusual padding.
