Facial Acupressure Guide
Hello there!
Rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupressure is a form of touch therapy that has been described as “needless acupuncture”. By stimulating unique points on the face we ensure there is balance throughout the body. With the proximity of the face to the brain, working with the face is beneficial for healing given the quicker communication.
Though there are over 200 acupressure points on the body, we ’ ve selected 8 acupressure points to work with. Acupressure is very intuitive, so be sure to relax, take some deep breaths and really tune into your face, body and mind as your practice.

Choose a quiet and beautiful environment.
Wear loose clothing (to avoid restriction of flow through the body) and lie on a massage bed or chair Light a candle, clean up your space (if at home), play your favorite music if you’d like Your space can have a huge impact on your experience.
Use your tool, or your hands.
We love the tool, because it allows for more precise technique, but try your hands (ring finger, index finger). We are a touch starved culture, so using your hands may feel comforting and even more relaxing
Circular motion, tapping or press and hold.
Tapping can be a more energizing technique, while the press and hold or can bring a more grounding energy
Some points may feel like indents, others like lumps Wherever you feel more sensation, that’s where you should spend more time That point is trying to tell you something.
4 Move intuitively.
Acupressure is an opportunity to check-in with yourself and with how you are feeling in your body and mind Are you out of balance? Has there been a change recently? Which specific points are you drawn to most today... and why? Where do you feel your need attention today?

Pressure?
Pressure should be firm, but not too much You can build pressure up over time as your skin becomes accustomed to the technique
When?
Acupressure is great as the final step of a Gua Sha or self-appled manual face massage ritual, after everything has been woken up in the face. It can also be practiced on its own We love evening Acupressure because it’s our most relaxing ritual for the nervous system, and can help with falling asleep.
How long?
Hold each point up to a minute, or as long as feel intuitively right for you. You can practice Acupressure daily, or at least 2-3x per week for optimal results.

MIRROR GAZING
Take a mirror and hold it in front of you. For the next 30 seconds, simply look at yourself. Really see yourself. Notice what comes up—whether it’s positive or negative—and just observe it without judgment.
Now, find three things you love about your face. Maybe it’s the curve of your smile, the brightness in your eyes, or the freckles on your cheeks
Take a moment to recognize three things you love about your character. Think of qualities that make you proud your kindness, your resilience, your sense of humor, or your strength.
If any negative thoughts come up during this exercise, that’s okay. Use this as a reminder to practice more mirror gazing in the days ahead. Train yourself to see your beauty, your uniqueness, and your power
If you already feel love for the person you see in the mirror, embrace that feeling and keep nurturing it Make mirror gazing part of your self-care ritual, a daily reminder of your beauty inside and out. Mirror gazing is a practice it’s about showing up for yourself with love and acceptance, just as you are.
Research says that self-love is the most important aspect of our wellbeing, yet is something we practice the least. What are you doing to support this very important aspect of your self-care?
