I am Iman Taha, born and raised in the UAE. My imagination had no boundaries, which I eventually expressed through my school work. In 2009, I graduated from high-school in the UAE with distinctions and enrolled in the University of Khartoum’s Faculty of Architecture.
SPACE AND LIGHT AND ORDER. THOSE ARE THE THINGS THAT MEN NEED JUST AS MUCH AS THEY NEED BREAD OR A PLACE TO SLEEP. – le corbusier. Although I’m still early on in my career, I’ve been lucky enough to have quite a diverse experience that encompasses several impressive projects with high-profile clients in the Middle East. I continuously push myself to excel and represent the image of a successful Sudanese female. My belief is that Architecture is life and to design spaces for people to live in, a good architect should know how to live. Often, we tend to treat our jobs as a means of making a living. I focus my energy on the outcome and the benefit to society. I aim to engage men in empowering young women. With men as catalysts for change, it will encourage women to pursue their dreams and accept challenges without fear. With that in mind, I worked with Al Sudaniya Mentoring over the past year as a mentor and will continue to identify different ways to engage with young Sudanese women and men in the future.
In one word describe: 1. Yourself: 2. Sudanese Women: 3. Architecture:
“CHALLENGE REJECTION WITH YOUR DETERMINATION AND KEEP AN OPEN MIND TO THE FAST-CHANGING WORLD AROUND YOU.” Lastly, I’d like to encourage people to look into Mental First Aid and the Catalyst movement which is shaping companies and organizations around the world.
