Projects

RISC-V Contour Tracing Algorithm Fall Semester 2025

Tasked with designing an optimized contour-tracing algorithm in RISC-V assembly to identify shape boundaries in a 50×50-pixel grid.

• Implemented low-level RISC-V code to load, scan, and classify 2,500 pixels stored in memory and detect contour transitions

• Optimized dynamic instruction counts to less than 3500 on average by reusing registers, minimizing memory accesses, and restructuring loops.

• Returned contour pixel count and bounding-box coordinates with 100% accuracy, meeting all algorithmic constraints.

Web Development Lab Fall Semester 2024 Teams of two tasked with building a website in JavaScript and Python that utilized data from APIs to generate original content using an LLM.

• Developed code to use daily space imagery from NASA APIs and generate original poems using Gemini based on image metadata and descriptions.

• Designed and implemented code for the home page which included descriptions of both team members, website outlines, and external links to our relative social media pages.

Relevant Coursework

Programming HW/SW Systems: Analysis of storage and execution mechanisms used to support high level programming languages and operating systems. Design projects require C programming and RISC-V assembly language programming.

Digital Systems Design: Development of digital systems using switch and gate design, Boolean algebra, number systems, and storage elements. Analysis of data path, memory organization, instruction set architecture, and assembly language.

Intro Signal Processing: Graphical and mathematical analysis of discrete-time signal processing and linear systems. Sampling theorem, filtering, frequency response, Discrete Fourier Transform, Z-Transform.
