New student CHECKLIST Before you start, have you accepted your offer? This is the first step in your enrolment and orientation activities at UWA. ACTIVATE PHEME You need to activate your Pheme account. Your Pheme account allows you to access all the student IT systems for your enrolment, timetable, unit outlines and much more.

If you haven’t accepted your offer, please go back to your offer letter/ email and respond.

COURSE ADVICE AND PLANNING Review your course structure and rules via the UWA Handbook available on-line or seek advice from your Student Advising Office for guidance on your study plan. handbooks.uwa.edu.au

CREATE YOUR UNIQUE STUDENT IDENTIFIER You need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) to be eligible for Commonwealth assistance (Commonwealth Supported Place and/or HELP loans). You must have a USI in order to graduate, this includes all students onshore, international students and students studying online. Get your USI now, and submit it through studentConnect under Personal Details then USI. usi.gov.au

YOUR UWA STUDENT EMAIL ACCOUNT Your UWA student email account is where we send you important notifications, as well as other information relating to your studies. Log in now, there will be messages in your inbox. uwa.edu.au/webmail

DOWNLOAD THE UWA APP Download the UWA app and utilize the campus map to find your way around. You can also discover events and chat with your classmates via the app. uwa.edu.au/app

UNDERSTAND ACE, CARS AND ISE ENROL ONLINE You can now complete your enrolment online through StudentConnect. You will need the study plan you’ve prepared and your Tax File Number (if you are an Australian citizen or holder of a Permanent Humanitarian Visa). studentconnect.uwa.edu.au

ORGANISE CAMPUS CARD To upload your photo for your campus card, log into CaptureME (via the link on the homepage of StudentConnect). Your new campus card will be ready for collection 2 working days after your photo has been approved. Please check your student email for confirmation and instructions for collection.

ORGANISE YOUR TIMETABLE Now that you’ve enrolled in units, you can plan your timetable via the UWA Class Allocation System. cas.uwa.edu.au

All students are automatically enrolled in these compulsory units. Acadamic Conduct Essentials (ACE), Communications and Research Skills (CARS) and Indigenous Studies Essentials (ISE). These are not-for-credit units and do not count towards your semester study load. You must complete these units during your first semester. Go to lms.uwa.edu.au

ORIENTATION AT UWA We have you covered with our online orientation module,’Your Orientation’ which you can access by logging into the Learning Management System (LMS). Go to the left hand menu bar, click on organisations and select ‘your orientation’. lms.uwa.edu.au
