Together, with SUNY Office of Enrollment Management and Student Success, we offer you this opportunity to explore the evolving landscapes of higher education, early career paths, and convene with peers.

Meet the Presenters! Jason Acosta works as a Program Manager for the NYC Department of Education where he oversees national teacher diversity recruitment for NYC Men Teach, a program focused on recruitment of male educators of color. As an active community member, Jason serves on the Board of Directors for the College Access Consortium of New York (CACNY), DreamYard Young Professionals Committee, and mentors at Eagle Academy for Young Men in the Bronx. He is also an adjunct professor at Hunter College and Long Island University. Jason holds a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Marist College and a Master of Social Work from Fordham University.

Bianca Martinez is a 2015 graduate from SUNY Binghamton University. She majored in Pre-Law and Sociology. After college, Bianca worked in recruitment within the financial industry and backpacked South America. Currently, Bianca leads recruitment and research efforts at Audeliss, an executive search firm with the mission to level the playing field for diverse talent. Bianca grew up in Forest Hills, Queens, and currently lives in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. In her spare time, you can find her exploring NYC's new restaurants, attending local events and playing sports.

Katelyn Montalvo is a Senior College Affordability Advisor in NYC, and supports students through the financial aid process. Katelyn holds a B.A. in American Studies and Community Health from Tufts University, where she led the relaunch of the university's student-led First Generation College School Council and served as the Coordinator for Training and Leadership for the undergraduate orientation program.


Patriece Nelson is a marketing professional who leads the NYC retail marketplace as Jordan Retail Brand Manager. As a volunteer for the Jordan Wings community program, Patriece has helped select over 60 students to receive full college scholarships on behalf of the Jordan Brand. Holding a B.A. in Dance and a minor in Hispanic Studies, Patriece continues to expand her passion for the arts and community outreach. She regularly volunteers at the Organization for Youth Empowerment (OYE), an organization dedicated to empowering disadvantaged youth to lead change in their communities.

Kenya Bryant is the Assistant Manager of Philanthropic Partnerships at the Estée Lauder Companies’ (ELC) where she works on the ELC grant making portfolio, focused on HIV/AIDS, women’s health and empowerment, and LGBTQ issues. Prior to joining ELC, Kenya was a Trainer at the Posse Foundation, an organization that identifies, recruits and trains students from diverse backgrounds and provides full-tuition leadership scholarships to top universities across the country. Kenya is a proud graduate of The Young Women’s Leadership School in East Harlem (TYWLS) and Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts.

Tola Lawal is founder of Gyrl Wonder, a non-profit that helps inner-city students take ownership of their lives and equips them with tools for success at college and beyond. Tola first discovered her calling and passion for millenial engagement when she realized that while brands and businesses were directing attention towards millennials, the voices and needs of youth of color were largely ignored. Following this realization, she went on to launch her own firm, SixOne7 Creative, where she worked on brands like Carol's Daughter and LionsGate films. Committed to empowering the next generation of leaders, Tola also serves as Assistant Director of College Success at a Brooklyn high school. Tola holds a degree in English Communications from Pace University and has appeared in Forbes, NBC, Black Enterprise and several other media outlets.
