BLOOD BALL Mid-March The Blood Ball is an annual celebration honoring Mary Ann Blood, who along with Ida Morey Riley, founded Columbia College in 1890. Many students take the occasion to dress up or wear a costume, matching the theme of the event. Food, drinks, live music, and impromptu performances typically liven up the night. As a community of learners, we have social contracts with each other and of course, official policies. Please take a minute to familiarize yourself with Columbia’s policies. ACADEMIC ADVISING To ensure that students are fulfilling degree requirements and on track towards the completion of their degree, they should meet regularly with their academic advisor in the College Advising Center. Students are responsible for their own success and progress toward the completion of their degree, and they should utilize both the services of faculty in their departments and advisors in the College Advising Center to assist with this process.
