Book Review: Miracle in my Living Room By: Krista Lyons

H

ave you ever read a book that grips you from the first line? A book that places its

metaphorical hands on your shoulders and shakes you awake, telling you that everything you are going through will be okay because God has all of your needs covered? It seems like these books are so rare that I was beginning to give up on my search for one-- but then came Evelyn Mann’s “Miracle in my Living Room.” This memoir follows Evelyn and her husband Ralph

as they embarked on a journey to save their baby. When Evelyn was pregnant, doctors discovered that their son, Samuel, had a rare form of dwarfism. The doctors were anything but optimistic and encouraged Evelyn to abort her baby, but against all odds she decided to keep him. After he was born, he was faced with seemingly insurmountable odds and one doctor even told Evelyn that her son was sure to die. With God’s incredible love and grace, Evelyn and Ralph began to see daily miracles with Samuel, and the book chronicles the times that God created peace during the fires of life (literally). Without giving away too much of the book, the miracles haven’t stopped to this very day for Evelyn, Ralph and Samuel.
