W

e have all read about the Timber Mill crisis in our fellow small town of Heyfield. The problem seems to me to simply be a lack of available suitable trees for harvesting. Of course there are suitable trees for harvesting but these are locked up for conservation reasons. The question is, when the relevant forests were made ‘protected’, no doubt for good reason, why wasn’t a plan put in place to have suitable plantation timber grown to become available as the supply of natural forest timber was phased out?

The reason is to my mind, because politicians don’t plan for the real or distant future, and don’t require the planning departments of government to place sufficient priority on issues that will arise in 20 or 30 years time.

Politicians tend to only make decisions about the immediate future and how it affects their chances of getting re elected at the very next election. There is no real incentive for a politician to bother with issues that may arise in 20 years time. Another example of this is the generation of cheap reliable electricity issue that governments are now scrambling to address.

One way to overcome this is to make it law that all politicians must stand down after say two terms in Parliament. This would perhaps encourage them to concentrate on real or long term problems instead of petty day to day point scoring as they would not have to worry about getting re elected at the end of their second term as there wouldn’t be a third term. Perhaps then they would see the ‘bigger picture’ and leave a legacy of which they could be proud.

n 11 June offenders broke into a shed on a rural property in Airly. Tools were stolen and other items were tampered with. It appears the offenders may have been disturbed as some items of value were moved but left behind.

6 bottles of spirits were stolen from a retail outlet in Tyers Street, Stratford during a crime spree in the local area. On 7 June a female offender stole 2 bottles of spirits from a supermarket in Maffra then drove to Stratford where she stole a further 6 bottles of spirits. After that she returned to Maffra where she stole cigarettes from another retail outlet before assaulting a staff member and fleeing toward Boisdale in her vehicle.

After a number of calls from concerned motorists about her driving she collided with a fence and was arrested by Maffra Police.

A 29 year old female from Morwell was charged with numerous offences and remanded in custody to appear at court in August.

On 18 May a brick paver was thrown through the window of a business in Tyers Street. Entry was not gained to the premises and nothing was stolen.

On a positive note we had an incident free long weekend on the roads in the Stratford response zone, which is an excellent result given the volume of traffic that passed through the area.

yber bullying, do not go there!

Others will laugh and you my friend, will be hurt. To be bullied in the outside world, where we are all meant to get along is bad enough, so to have such a privilege as technology and use it to make fun of each other and to be horrible to one another, is just not on. According to nobullinging.com, 1 in 4 students have reported being bullied, which is ridiculous. To add to that, 64% of females reported being cyber - bullied. There is no point to bullying someone on line. The photos and messages that are sent to make the person on the other end feel humiliated or abused is just cruel. We need to take a stand! There are 3 types of bullies. The ringleader, this is the one who starts it. The follower, these are the ones that go along with and join in with the bullying.

Then there's the reinforcer, this is the person that laughs or encourages the bullying. There are lots of people trying to stop the issue of cyber - bullying, but is it really working? Are there enough of us doing our part to stop it?

There needs to be another way to decrease the number of people, that are hurting others

A Life member with 60 years commitment to Stratford CFA, 30 years a member of Scouts, as a youngster attended the local Presbyterian Church and continues his Christian upbringing at Stratford Uniting Church, an original member of Avon Landcare Group and now a great supporter of Stratford Men’s Shed. Ken proudly mentions all men are welcome at The Shed behind Stratford Senior Citizen’s club rooms on Monday and Friday mornings. Gentleman you don’t need building talents just call in for a cuppa and chinwag.

For me it’s the pleasure of listening to wonderful people sharing family stories, knowledgeable history and recollections from yesteryear.

In my mind trying to visualise myself within the history.

This month my “A chat with” is local identity, and real nice bloke, Ken Baxter.

Ken being the gentleman he is was at times a bit reticent so lots of prompting from his lovely wife Dawn.

And our story commences with Ken’s father, Mr Bert Baxter, building a row of shops in Tyers Street. (Now Nom Nom’s, Stratford Newsagency, Flawless hairdressing and Mumma Goose.”

But returning to the late 1920’s the café on the corner, next door a small newsagency at the front, with a barber shop behind and Horace Buckley’s billiard room and library at the back. If only those walls could talk!

For his new bride Dolly (nee Stewart) Mr. Baxter built a home on the corner of Tyers and Fitzroy Streets, now the residence of John Norden. Later on building another beautiful family home in Dawson Street. Ken, after completing Year 10 at Sale Technical School

purposely, to draw attention to themselves or make themselves feel good. For starters, when there is an inappropriate picture, don't just leave it. If you come across it, report it and tell the person who posted, or shared it, that it is an inappropriate picture or message. If you don't feel comfortable confronting that person, tell someone who can help you. When it comes to Facebook, it's not a competition to see how many friends you can have, so just add people you "actually" know. When using Instagram, don't let people follow you, if you don't know them. If you were to walk down the street and say hi to them, well then for all means, follow them and let them follow you, but don't let people you don't know follow you because for all you know they could be some 38 year old man posing as a high school kid. These are a few things that could limit your risk to being cyber-bullied. You should never feel uncomfortable when trying to have fun, like someone will ridicule you or make up lies.

Victims of cyber bullying, or any bullying have a higher risk of depression and anxiety, eating and sleeping problems and are more likely to have bad grades or drop out of school.

There is also a higher risk for them to have drug or alcohol problems. If you feel that you are a victim of bullying, there are people and places that can help you. You can talk to your parents, your school welfare team or check out online services like kidshelpline.com, headspace.com or bullingnoway.com. So please, find someone you can trust to help you.

Some good advice I got from my teacher is 'Don't post or write something online that you wouldn't print out and stick on your back, to then go to your grandparents house with it on.'

tratford turned on a perfect Autumn morning to host the first visit by new Wellington Shire Council members.

With good timing, the morning fog lifted and the sun broke through for their arrival.

The group, led by Mayor Carolyn Crosley, was treated to a delicious morning tea courtesy of the creative and talented team of volunteers at Segue. Darren McCubbin gave the visitors a summary of the courthouse's history and of the creative activities at the Courthouse Theatre.

On Sunday we went for a stroll up the Avon river, as far as old Stratford. This was the place where the first white men settled when they came about Gippsland. We visited the old cemetery in which we could only count nine graves.

The cemetery was made in about the year 1840. It is a very small one fenced in with post and rails. It has one big bush in it, and a few small ones. The big bush must have been planted as a small plant,

about the creative and community sustainability projects being facilitated by Segue Community Hub and Arts Cafe. Avon Landcare's driving force, Harry Hoff, then brought them up to date with the landcare groups achievements and current projects.

The visitors toured the Courthouse Theatre before proceeding to the Stratford Historical Society's museum and Stratford Men's Shed.

The busy schedule also took in The Knob Reserve and Arts Trail.

The councillors obviously enjoyed their visit and showed a keen interest in community projects.

une/July sees two exhibitions running concurrently in our region, showcasing the works of one of Australia’s well known landscape artists, Kenneth Jack.

Jack (1924 - 2006) is one of Australia’s finest and most admired landscape artists. His work chronicles and celebrates the immense variety of the Australian continent and architecture, past and present. His travelling exhibition “The Kenneth Jack View” assembled by his son David, will be showing at the Gippsland Art Gallery in Sale. Ken has a connection with the Gippsland Gallery, being one of the first artists who exhibited at Sale Gallery in the 1960s, and had works selected for the gallery’s collection. These works are from the family’s private collection and reveal the intellectual and artistic challenges that he faced. Ken’s works from the gallery’s own collection will also be displayed.

At the same time Briagolong Art Gallery will host an exhibition “Gippsland and Beyond” featuring smaller works, depicting scenes from Ken’s visits to Gippsland over the decades.

Many of these works have not been viewed or been available for sale before. The exhibition will comprise of drawings, prints, watercolours, oils and mixed media. Fascinated by the history of Australia, he was intent on capturing accurately our history before it vanished. He travelled extensively all over the continent to achieve this aim.

His first love was drawing. Ken made many innovations experimenting with techniques in all types of media. There were

The music and genius of Mozart also inspired his work. The exhibitions reveal Ken’s journey exploring abstraction in the 1950s and 1960s and ultimate return to his “romantic realism”.

Ken was admitted to the Royal Watercolour society in London in 1977, a rare achievement for an Australian painter. In 1981 he became the president of the Victorian Watercolour Society and Patron from 1981. Ken was honored for his services to art, in 1982 with an MBE and in 1987 with an AM. He has been a member of the Australian Watercolour Institute since 1955. He was Foundation Vice President Of Australian Guild of Realists Artists 1974-81 and made an Honorary Life member in 1989.

ions Club of Stratford is hosting the District 201V3 Convention to be held 27th – 29th October 2017.

Preparations are going well and we are being greatly assisted by Ibis Styles Sale where the convention will be held. The committee is working with the District Governor Andrew McMahon and his District Committee to make this a very successful event. Lions International is celebrating 100 years, Australian Lions is celebration 70 years and Stratford Lions is celebrating 45 Years. On Thursday 15 June Stratford Lions held their changeover, in the Mechanics Hall, from outgoing President Lindsay Ross to incoming President Paul Wager. The changeover was officiated by the District Governor

by DG Anita. The guest speaker was David Luxford who gave a talk about the book he had written with the help of his mother before she passed away, about her life in the district. It was a very funny but moving talk about a wonderful person who had collected and retained so much history in the things that she kept. It was a very enjoyable evening and a cake was decorated celebrating 100 years Lions International and 45 years Stratford Lions.

tratford’s first post office was in Thomas Lloyd’s store (now Stratford Motel). Up until the early 1880s the current post office’s block of land is thought to have been vacant.

In March 1884, a preliminary notice appeared in the papers advising that the Avon Shire was seeking land for the construction of a combined Post and Telegraph Office, Courthouse and Shire Offices. Construction was commenced the same year, with the builders being McKerrow and Waters of Sale, and the architect J.H.W. Pettit, also of Sale The contract price was £2,629 15s, just over $5,000 in today’s money.

Building commenced later the same year, when it was written: “The new public offices in the main street are rapidly approaching completion, and will form a handsome and useful item in the architecture of the place.

The present contract is let to Messrs McKerrow and Waters, of Sale, for £2700, but

when finished inclusive of supervision, the estimated cost will reach £3000. The architect and designer is Mr J. H. W. Pettit, of Sale, upon whom the whole building reflects considerable credit”.

The original Post & Telegraph Office building was designed and built without a veranda or any public space, mirroring the left hand side of the court house which is still original today (Segue cafe).

In August 1887 the veranda with public space was added, wrapping around the existing building creating public undercover space. In September 1900 new plans were drawn up for the facade we know today. These plans incorporated the old building while adding the two high gabled wings and for the first time a public entrance from Tyers Street.

Most of the veranda was pulled down to make way for the gabled wings, however some still remains above the public post office boxes today.

In 1952 new plans were drawn to close the Tyers Street entrance and install a public phone in a small cubical area. So, after 51 years the public entered the post office again via Hobson Street. This configuration stayed until at least 1976, however the public phone had been removed and a window put in the location (current entrance, Tyers Street).

For many years, the Avon Shire collected their actual peppercorn in rent from the post office. A peppercorn tree still grows in the backyard. In recent times the Hobson Street entrance has been changed into a window keeping the original 1900 brickwork intact and the entrance moved to Tyers Street.

The lunch was prepared by students using produce from the school garden. Families and friends of the school were invited and also treated to a silent Cake Auction.

Cheesecake, boiled fruit cake, lots of chocolate and icing featured as students and parents tried to outbid each other. Over $400 was raised by the families making these cakes. This will definitely be on next year’s fundraising calendar.

ur year 6 students had a great opportunity working with the Combined School Shakespeare performance team. As well as the many stagecraft skills gained our students came away from the experience with a new sense of what they could achieve with commitment and perseverance. The students began rehearsal in the first week of term one and worked each week to perfect the show. Thank you to the Shakespeare committee for helping make this event possible.

This term our students have been training and participating in the various cross country events. With the support of our families, we held our annual whole-school cross country at the Knob Reserve earlier this term. The team spirit was evident as students cheered loudly for their house mates as they came to the finish line. Nineteen runners went on to represent our school at the Heyfield and District competition. We now have four

and socialising. This was followed by a ‘Community’ day at Nambrok-Denison PS where students dressed as various community members and rotated activities throughout the day. CFA, Police, Ambulance and Gippsland Water attended. As it was World Environment Day sustainability also featured with students attending the Energy trailer, doing some planting and learning about the habitat of our local community. Cluster staff also combined to discuss the benefits of collaborating in a learning community and developing teacher capacity to improve student outcomes. We hosted our annual Harvest Lunch which saw

Our other guests, Sonya Young, Michael Hutchison, Craig Allardyce, and Harry Jacobs gave their time and provided a picture of the many ways Australian Forces have been involved in conflict and peace keeping missions over time.

his year St Patrick’s celebrated with the theme: ‘With courage let us all rejoice’. The Student Representative Council have identified specific actions that uphold the Catholic social teaching principles Life and Dignity of the Human Person, and Common Good.

The common good is reached when we work together to improve the wellbeing of people in our society and the wider world. The rights of the individual to personal possessions and community resources must be balanced with the needs of the disadvantaged and dispossessed.

Refugee Week at St Patrick’s commenced with a special assembly to help people understand who refugees are, why they have come to Australia, and the many challenges refugees face coming to Australia.

Other activities included;- letter writing to refugee children, collecting donations of rice for a local refugee family, short film sessions, and a presentation at Friday assembly. These SRC initiatives help us become more aware of social issues and ways that we can be more Jesus-like in our words and actions.

irly PS has been successful in achieving a Momentum Energy Junior Landcare Powerful Youth Projects Grant 2017. This will allow our school community to build a bush tucker garden and establish a new native garden within the school grounds. This will form part of our sustainability learning this year and involve community members. Students will learn about plants and animals native to this area of Gippsland.

The Sale Rural Cluster has been working together to host the Life Education Van where students learnt vital health messages from ‘Harold’ the giraffe.

Held over two days, juniors and seniors gathered on respective days for their learning

with any wins but were fantastic sports and had fun. A very special thankyou again to Gerard Condon for coaching the girls on the day.

Year Three travelled to Bairnsdale to visit ‘Krowathunkooloong’ – The Keeping Place and the Bairnsdale Art Gallery. This visit linked the Year Three unit ‘First Contacts’ and recognition of National Sorry Day and Reconciliation Week. The students enjoyed seeing many interesting displays which included traditional Gunai/Kurnai hunting weapons, bark canoes, fishing spears, boomerangs and an exhibition of contemporary Gunaikurnai art.

Writing Is Thinking—What are Our Students Writing and Thinking About?

The issue of bear bile farming.

Would you like a tube from your gallbladder to your skin? No! Well then listen to this. Bear bile farming is a slow and painful process and I think it is horrible. Imagine pain and torture for 30 years. Bears are not the only source of medicine but in Asian countries bears are still used for their bile. If they keep up bear bile farming the Bear population will fall. It is stupid because there are bear free alternatives.

Unfortunately bear medicine is still legal in China and Asia. If you had a choice would you put in your system stuff from the earth or something from a tortured bear? So that is why I think bear bile farming should most certainly be illegal. By Rohan

tratford Pony Club member Darcy Wade, 16, has recently qualified and been selected to represent Australia at the Youth World Championships in Budapest from 17 - 24 July 2017. In conjunction with these World Championships he will also train in Hungary for the three weeks prior to the event. Shortly after his return he will also represent Australia at the Oceania Modern Pentathlon Championships in Japan. “It is an honour to have the opportunity to wear the green and gold and represent Australia” says Darcy.

For those of you that don't know, Modern Pentathlon consists of a 200m swim, Horse Riding, Epee Fencing, Shooting with a Laser and Running 3.2km.

At the Olympic Games in Rio, Australia's Chloe Esposito won a Gold medal in the Women's event!

Having been introduced to the sport through Pony Club he first tried this sport only 18 months ago and has been committed to it ever since. Darcy first started competing in

Tetrathlon through Pony Club and was selected on the Victoria team to compete at his first competition where he won the National Junior Tetrathlon Championships. After this event he started learning to fence after some encouragement from the Tetrathlon coach. In May 2016 Darcy competed in his first full Pentathlon and hasn’t looked back. He is the current WA, QLD and Victorian State title holder, the Runner-Up Australian Champion and has been selected on the Youth Olympic Games Development Squad. Last year he also competed in Ireland in an International Tetrathlon Championships and placed 4th in the Senior Boys competition as one of the youngest competitors.

Darcy completes approximately 30 hours training a week running, swimming, horse riding, shooting including a six hour round trip to complete fencing training in Melbourne every week.

s promised, I am continuing to report the stories of some of the stalwarts of the Stratford Bowls Club.

Ron Kyne came to bowls from other sporting interests. Ron had a long career as an AFL umpire, and also loved playing badminton and tennis. When playing badminton in our local stadium one night, he snapped his achilles tendon, necessitating 2 months in plaster and rehab, only to snap it again.

With competition in tennis and badminton not recommended, and with encouragement from the earliest life member Keith Davidson, Ron took up the

sport of lawn bowls in the late 1980’s. Keith told him - “If you are going to play this sport, become familiar with the rules.

Get a rule book and learn it”. Ron took him at his word, studied the rules and gained his umpires “ticket”. This interest went further, and Ron eventually became Chairman of the District Umpires Panel.

At his home club Ron has been consistently involved in administration, holding the positions of Secretary, Vice President and President, as well as serving on the Match, Greens, Bingo and Grounds Committees. His past work and business experience have also made him a valuable go to man for maintenance and fix-it jobs inside the clubrooms and around the grounds. On the greens, Ron has enjoyed success as a member of the premiership Stratford pennant

ur May Meeting was very well attended and we enjoyed the very informative and interesting presentation given by our Guest Speaker, Graham Glover about the old Picture Theatres in Gippsland. Thanks very much Graham.

We were pleased to welcome members of the Wellington Shire Council who came to have a look at our Museum and our collection recently as part of a visit to the Stratford township. They were very interested in our large aerial photos of the town in 1956, 1965 and 1968. Also the Curator of the Art Gallery in Sale, Simon Gregg, has visited the Museum to look at a few items in our collection relating to the early history of Gippsland.

ith the assistance of sponsors, Shaw’s Meats, Turkish Magic, Jack White and Stratford Hardware, the Men’s Shed were able to once again able to successfully run their Annual Lamb Raffle and raise over $1000 to be used for upgrading of machines and equipment.

Members are, as always, grateful for the wonderful support that they receive from the local community. Prize winners will be announced in next issue. Stratford Caravan Park has also continued to support the shedders in a most generous fashion by funding a new dust extraction system which will greatly improve the working conditions within the facility. The shed received an unexpected and

According to Ron, some of his best bowls adventures have been on interstate trips with the Victorian Past Presidents Association.

Happy memories are recalled of the carnivals in Queensland, South Australia, New South Wales, ACT and Western Australia with other former presidents of Victorian clubs.

Sporting Clubs rely on the generosity of members like Ron, who devote their time to building and maintaining club facilities and resources. Thank you Ron. Visitors are always welcome at the Museum and we enjoy helping them with their enquiries from our historical records on a Tuesday between 10.00 am – 3.00 pm. We are pleased that we will have three new members next Tuesday.

The latest edition of our Bulletin will soon be available. Our Annual General Meeting will be held on Monday 24 July and we will be looking forward to having Peter Synan as our Guest Speaker. The Meeting will be at the Museum commencing at 7.30 pm.

Jane Spice welcome visit from a group of Wellington Councillors and other visitors in June. They were delighted with the facility and impressed with the way in which the Shire’s funds had been used to assist in the building of an extension and new signage for the front of the block. Cr Darren McCubbin was thrilled with the resource and quick to agree to a visit in the near future to provide a talk and also morning tea which I’m sure would be available to any members of the community that would like to attend.

CENTRAL GIPPSLAND he June meeting was held at Rosedale Neighbourhood House on Monday 19 June. Discussions took place on the Resolutions which were brought up at the NCW Australia Mid Term Conference.

Some of these important topics are climate change, housing affordability, endorsing the third action plan to reduce violence against women and children, and supporting the continuation of funding in this area. NCWA also supports an inquiry into Residential Aged Care, accommodation for Mental Health Clients and Superannuation 'No Gender Pay Gap'. These only summarise a small amount of work being done by NCWV and NCWA. The next meeting will be at the Heyfield Resource Centre on 17 July and our AGM will be in Morwell on 21 August.

Fundraising Dinner On Friday 14 July at 6.00 pm, St Andrew’s is holding a fundraising dinner for the mission work of Vicki and Yong Kim, who were part of the Stratford community before moving to the Kimberley, WA, where they ministered from 2009 to 2015. The family moved to Ireland in 2016 for training and then ministered in Ireland and Europe. Now they are off to Nepal. Yong will speak about their work in the Kimberley and their plans for work in Nepal. There will be excellent food, good company and the opportunity to support a dynamic couple.

What a busy and blessed month the Parish has had!

Thank you to everyone who helped and supported our Trivia Night on Saturday 3 June. We were most appreciative of all donations for prizes particularly from several local businesses. It was a fun night, enjoyed by those who attended and helped raise valuable funds for our ongoing ministry. On Saturday 10 June, our Curate-inCharge, David Perryman, was ordained to the Anglican Priesthood at St Paul’s Cathedral, Sale by our Bishop, Kay Goldsworthy, to the acclamation of our Parishioners. It was a wonderful occasion and blessed with sunny winter weather. On the Sunday, David, as Priest-inCharge, took his first service which included the baptism of his youngest son, Elijah, by Bishop Kay. A very memorable parish occasion! Trinity Treasurers Op Shop – We are most grateful to all those who help at our Op Shop and those who donate the goods which allows a good turn-around of stock, making our displays more interesting each week to customers. his year we have record numbers for our Junior footy and the Season is going very well. Glenn (Austy) Aeschlimann is Coaching the Under 10’s who are playing great team football each week. Their progress has been amazing and the support from their Family and Friends is always positive and encouraging and creates a great atmosphere. All of the Kids have impressed during the season and some standouts have been Harry Bartlett, Jake Williams, Mitch Straw, Beau Cottrell and Mac Pendergast to name a few.

The Under 12’s are being coached this year by Doug Dekkers and he has some really eye catching players in his team. This team has had a few very good wins this year and has been well served by Jono Boyd, Kobi Taylor, Ben Dekkers and Liam Trolove who have all played this level before. Cameron Higgins and Thomas Boyd have been very exciting new players to the team while Tilly Pendergast has played some outstanding games. During the season, Senior Coach, Peter Morrison has been

Playing well also have been Harry Langford, Seb Pendergast and Cohen Wade. The big improvers have been Blair Darvill, who when sticking to his man is rarely beaten and also Jason Brown, who competes as best he can all of the time. We have been fortunate to have a few ex Maffra players join us this year looking for a change and they all bring a great attitude each week. Jake Pendrick, Will Osborn and Matt Phelan have been terrific additions to the team.

The Youth Girls Team got off the ground due to the tremendous work of Paul, Lynda and Chelsea Bray at the start of the season. Not looking like being able to field a team we now have over 20 Girls registered and playing well.

Their first win didn’t happen until June but it was fantastic to see the delight on everyone’s face when it came. We had been close on a couple of occasions and it was good reward for the extra effort they had all put in.

Players who play well every week are Emma Ullrich, Cleo Fox and when not injured, Chelsea Bray. Others improving and showing good signs have been Sarah Lett, Chloe Allen and Daniela Pirona. Rose Robinson has kicked 6 goals during the season to be strong up forward.

A big thank you must go out to all of the helpers each week and the Canteen Co-ordinators, Molly and Becky. Without your help we would not be in the shape that we are.

The Stratford Garden for the Community Julie Malyon A small group of volunteers have come together to help grow the Stratford Garden for the Community, located around the Segue Café and Gallery and the Stratford Library. While they spend time doing the normal garden activities such as digging, planting and weeding, they also enjoy the opportunity to further develop the space for the enjoyment of the community, and coming up with different ways to help the gardening community. These people really love their gardening!

The Plant and Produce Table on Saturday morning continues to be

a great place to pick up some fresh seasonal produce, or maybe another plant for the garden, at a very reasonable price. You might have noticed that Sonja has recently handed over the reigns to some new faces, and we know that her familiar face will be missed by many who stop by on Saturday mornings – she still pops in now and then, so don’t despair!

We have recently introduced a Garden Workshop Programme, with the first on how to set up a compost heap, enthusiastically attended.

Gardening workshops will normally be held on the first Sunday of the month, and our program for the remainder of 2017 is set below.

Many of you may have heard about Food Swaps, where people come together to exchange excess produce, and have a cuppa while getting to know each other and sharing food and gardening ideas. We are very excited to announce that our first food swap will be held on Thursday 20 July, and then on the third Thursday of each month thereafter.

Another important activity of the group is going out and Helping the Community, helping people who for some reason or another are unable to get into their beloved garden. We arrange to pop in for a couple of hours and weed, trim and tidy things up for them. It’s amazing how nice it is to look out and see your garden looking neat, tidy and loved.
