Your commitment to Stratford Hall has enabled us to go beyond! We are extremely grateful for your generosity. It makes a difference for Stratford Hall today and in the future.

“Your amazing donations to the Annual Fund helped us build a top-notch climbing wall at Stratford Hall. I’ve got to tell you, it’s totally transformed our climbing program. We even launched our own rock climbing team and proudly sent 35 of our athletes to two different competitions this year. The wall has seriously boosted our climbing program. Our students are setting personal goals, pushing their boundaries, and supporting each other - it’s something else to see kids of all ages helping each other out. With the wall, climbing has become a sport that everyone at Stratford Hall can get into, regardless of their experience or skill level. We’re watching a real passion for climbing come alive among our students. Your support has been incredible - it’s making a world of difference. I’m stoked to see what other experiences we can offer our students with your help. A big thanks to all of you!”

$120,000

“Just as we teach our students to become lifelong learners, we wish the same for our faculty and staff. This year, we wanted to be sure that we could support every staff member who wished to attend the in-person professional development offerings that would best support their practice. Some of this is required by the International Baccalaureate, whereas others are tied to their individual growth plans. Your contributions played a critical role in supporting these professional learning activities.”

“Thank you so much for your contributions to the Annual Fund in support of Queen Alexandra. QA is our sibling school, just down the street, however, they serve a much more vulnerable population than Stratford Hall. Approximately 50% of students at QA struggle with food insecurity which has been exacerbated by the pandemic and recent rise in inflation. Along with supporting academic and experiential learning, your donations will ensure that QA students have consistent access to healthy foods, with a particular focus on providing fresh fruits and vegetables during school hours, which many students do not access at home. Your donations truly change lives and help to ensure our community youth have the nutritional support they need in order to learn to their fullest potential.”

Dear Stratford Hall Community,

One Stratford Hall! You are an important part of the one Stratford Hall equation!

It is our goal to provide the very best to Stratford Hall students. Through your generosity, and because of your contributions, we are able to enhance the amazing programmes and projects around the school that impact the daily lives of each and every student.

Our Annual Fund facilitates that achievement not only in disbursements to teachers for program enhancements, but also in creating a significant impact for our sister school, Queen Alexandra Elementary.

We rely on the generous donations of our community to the Annual Fund to be able to develop our future leaders. This year, once again, we have had more first-time donors than ever. The average individual gift has also increased. Thank you.

But remember that every gift, of every size, has added value to a Stratford Hall education, as we continue to build a strong foundation for tomorrow and the years to come. Your participation matters.

This year, through your donations to the Annual Fund, we were able to do the following projects highlighted in this report.

Your continued support is greatly appreciated!

With Warmest Gratitude,

$1,000 Libary Books

“The cast and crew of the first ever Stratford Hall Senior School musical production of the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee are forever grateful for the support of the Annual Fund in getting the musical program up and running. From securing the rights for the show, the rental of The Cultch’s Vancity Culture Lab, acquiring fabulous costumes and props, to hiring a musical director and lighting designer, the Annual Fund was able to help every step of the way. It was an absolute dream for everyone to be able to walk into a professional learning environment at a theatre off campus and truly delve into the world of Broadway life. Our newly formed theatre family made up of a talented cast and crew of 24 students from Grades 6 to 12 entertained hundreds of student and family audiences for five shows. We learned so much about ourselves while we sang and danced through the lights as such fun and memorable characters. The experience was life changing for everyone involved and we were so proud to represent Stratford Hall onstage and infuse so much joy into the community!”

$27,000 Lab Equipment

“This year support from the Annual Fund has meant more fabulous books for the PYP library. Books remain one of the most valuable learning tools in a school. The more quality books students and teachers have access to, the more chance there is that we can spark thinking, curiosity and the imagination of our students. The books purchased this year supported so many readers, in so many different ways. We were able to purchase and promote books that reflect and honour the diversity of all people, with the goal of making sure that all students can see themselves as characters in the stories they read. Many of the new books also served as provocation tools sparking questions and inquiries during each grade’s units of inquiry. We purchased books that explore different concepts in each of the transdisciplinary themes. Other books purchased provided more choice for students when they come to the library to choose books for pleasure reading, books that help students develop a lifelong love of reading. For all of this, we would like to extend our thanks from all of our readers at Stratford Hall.”

“The Annual Fund has had a positive impact on the quality of teaching in our science department. With the help of our generous donors, we have been able to upgrade and provide our students with access to state-of-the-art scientific tools. We were able to purchase a range of new equipment that has enhanced our ability to teach the scientific method and conduct hands-on experiments. These upgrades have also improved the safety of our lab, ensuring that our students are working with equipment that is up-to-date and in good working order. These new tools have allowed our students to conduct experiments and investigations that were not possible before. The new equipment has enabled us to create more engaging and interactive lessons, which have led to an increase in student engagement and interest in science. The document camera has been particularly helpful for demonstrating scientific processes and procedures, making it easier for students to understand complex concepts. The Van de Graaff generator has also been a hit with students, providing an interactive way to learn about static electricity.

The science department is extremely grateful for your support. We look forward to continuing to provide an exceptional science program to all Stratford Hall students. Thank you.”
