CHINTHURST ELEVATE EARLY YEARS PROGRAMME

At Chinthurst, our Elevate Early Years Programme provides nursery children from 21 / 2 years with an exceptional education in our two preschool years, Little Chicks and Kindergarten. The Elevate Early Years experience goes well beyond the standard Early Years framework.

HOW IT WORKS

Each day is carefully planned to deliver a bespoke and inspiring curriculum, designed to prepare children for a confident and seamless transition into Reception at Chinthurst. Led by fully qualified teachers, the programme is filled with purposeful, exciting, and creative activities that ignite curiosity, build strong foundations, and give every child a true head start to their learning.

The children enjoy:

• Specialist lessons – French, PE and drama lessons taught by specialist teachers;

• Nutritious lunches – a well-balanced hot meal freshly prepared each day;

• Additional activities – everything from woodland learning and cookery to STEAM, music and art;

• Special occasions – including the Christmas Show, Grandparents’ Day, Sports Day and Teddy Bears’ Picnic.

TIMINGS OF THE SCHOOL DAY

Timings are structured to support the delivery of the Elevate Early Years Programme, ensuring children gain the greatest benefit from our tailored curriculum. Children can attend either a morning session or a full day.

Morning Session 8.25am to 12.30pm

Full Day * 8.25am to 3.30pm

* See reverse for details of Wraparound Care

GOVERNMENT FUNDING

At Chinthurst, we participate in the Universal 15 Hours Entitlement up to a maximum of 15 hours a week. Funding applies for children between their third and fifth birthdays (available from the term after they turn 3 up to and including the term in which they turn 5). Three hours of funding are available per morning session, meaning that a child attending 3 mornings would benefit from 9 hours of funding.

Fees for the programme:

• Fully funded hours per day – 3

• Non-funded hours per day – 11/ 2 for a morning session or 4 1/ 2 for a full day (including the cost of specialist teachers, additional activities and lunch).

It is important to note that government funding is not intended to cover the full cost of childcare, just the core costs of a child attending an Early Years setting.

If you would like to opt out of our Elevate Early Years Programme and want your child to attend the funded hours only, please contact us for more information.

MINIMUM SESSIONS & WRAPAROUND CARE

Minimum Sessions – Children in Little Chicks attend a minimum of three morning sessions, while those in Kindergarten attend a minimum of four morning sessions and 1 full day. Families are welcome to add extra morning sessions in Little Chicks and afternoon sessions in both Little Chicks and Kindergarten (to create full school days), offering the flexibility to suit each child’s needs and family routine.

Wraparound Care – We have a comprehensive wraparound care programme which extends the school day from 7.30am to 6.00pm on Mondays to Thurdays and 7.30am to 5.00pm on Fridays during term time.
