Because it consists of 27 bones, 27 joints, 34 muscles, more than 100 ligaments and tendons, numerous blood vessels, nerves and soft tissue, it often requires the expertise of a certified hand therapist. Margret Kelly MS, OTR/L, CHT has joined BPT’s office in Monterey as a certified hand therapist and occupational therapist. Kelly graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor of science in biobehavioral health before pursuing her Masters in Occupational Therapy at the University of New Hampshire. She chose a career in rehabilitation with the intent of specializing in hand therapy based on an admiration for how the intricacies of the hand and upper extremity lend itself to an individual’s ability to express, experience, connect, and engage throughout life.
