IMPORTANT UPDATES:
SPIRIT DAY 2012
1) Colonie Center $chool Buck$ Contest The last day to turn in receipts is June 1st. St. Pius X School is currently in 4th place and in the running to win $1,000. Please send your receipts to the PSA Mailbox or get them stamped at Colonie Center’s Guest Services within 60 days of purchase. Every dollar spent at the Mall counts!
2) Price Chopper Tools for School –The
program has ended for this school year. Thanks to your purchases at Price Chopper using your AdvantEdge card, St. Pius has earned 99,000 points which will be used by the teachers to obtain supplies for their classrooms. The program will begin again in August 2012. Please resister your AdvantEdge card at www.pricechopper.com.
3) Art Department Fundraiser- You should
have received a magnet with your child’s original artwork on it. You may purchase the magnet or other customized products with the same artwork on it. This fundraiser will help the Art Department purchase supplies. Orders must be submitted by Wednesday, April 18th and will be received by Mother’s Day.
4) Race for Education/Spirit Day T-shirt Design Contest – Thank you for submitting your designs! The new t-shirt design will be announced soon! Watch for details on how you may purchase the newly designed t-shirt!
5) Your dollars put to great use! - The PSA has purchased a brand new OVEN/STOVE for the school’s “old kitchen.” It will be great to see teachers, parents and students using it!
VOL_NTEE_ What’s missing? U R !!!! Spirit Day is the PSA’s biggest event of the year, a day-long celebration that the students and faculty look forward to ALL YEAR and it is not possible without the support of St. Pius families. Would you like to scoop ice cream, serve burgers, watch the Bouncy-Bouncers or help with one of the carnival games? Your help is greatly needed and very much appreciated! We have a job just waiting for you! Our School’s Art Show will be held on Tuesday, June 5th from 6:00-8:00pm. Volunteers are needed to host the show and serve refreshments. The PSA makes phone calls to every new family in August to WELCOME them to St. Pius. Are you interested in being part of the “Welcome Wagon”? We would love to have you! Send an email to SPXPSA@nycap.rr.com and put THE WELCOME WAGON NEEDS ME on the SUBJECT line if you would like to be part of this important team of volunteers.
The PSA hosts the Back to School Ice Cream Social in September (also known as “Pius Palooza”). This is a wonderful night for our school community & a chance for the students to see their friends, teachers and classrooms before the first day of school. We would love your help on Tuesday night, September 4th serving ice cream.
