CENTRE SUPERVISOR





The Centre Supervisor will assist the Centre Manager in delivering efficient operations of the Alix Burnage Centre at St Piran’s. To undertake the day-to-day management of the Alix Burnage Centre, building maintenance, hiring facilities and premises and events team. To implement new ideas to keep improving customer service and business performance through sales and promotion of the centre.

RESPONSIBLE TO: The Bursar
HOURS OF WORK:
• Tuesday and Wednesday
• 3.30 pm – 10.30 pm
• Saturday
• 7.30 am – 5.30 pm
• 52 weeks per year
Role and Responsibilities:
Health and Safety:
• To maintain records and reports in line with Health and Safety legislation
• To administer first aid as and when required
• To maintain all first aid boxes held in the centre
• To maintain water temperature and water quality of the pool, conforming to Health and Safety standards
Hiring:
• To maintain an effective booking system to support the hiring of the facilities, & record hirers' usage and costings
• To ensure that all areas are fit for hiring, including the changeover period
• To report & log any operational or maintenancerelated issues or concerns to the Centre Manager
Alix Burnage Centre
• To clean areas of the centre during busy periods as and when required
• To create job sheets when required for part-time staff to follow
Swimming Pool maintenance
• To operate the plant room to include daily water tests and any associated tasks such as priming the pumps, airing filters, topping up day tanks, pool water/air temperature, backwashing and cleaning poolside
• To ensure that the cleaning of the centre by the “contract cleaners” is maintained to a high standard
Security
• To identify and communicate any security-related issues you encounter during your working day.
• To liaise with any external contractors when working on site.
• To ensure that the centre is opened as a whole or part of preparation for the hirers.
• To ensure that the “contract cleaners” are securing the centre when not in use/and/or to deliver a site check and walk round reporting any issues to the Centre Manager or recording on our system Administration
• To maintain records, incidents and lost property books
• To use the daily diary to communicate with the Centre Manager and Part-time staff
Person Specification and Qualifications
Good knowledge and experience in facility maintenance management
Good knowledge and experience in marketing building facilities
Experience in planning and managing programmes and events
Results-driven, proven track record in meeting deadlines, working under pressure and exceeding targets
Adaptability and flexibility to be able to respond to changing task requirements in an enthusiastic and positive way
Computer literate with knowledge of Word, Excel and Access
Passionate, energetic and proactive and a ‘can do’ attitude
Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as required – prioritising needs of centre management
Appropriate qualification in a customer or service-related discipline
NPLQ (national pool lifeguard qualification) & FAAW (First aid at work)
