Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness. ” “

“
Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. ”
Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, for each one should carry their own load. “
You have searched me, Lord, and you know me. ” “

Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. ”

St Philip’s Teaching School has placement opportunities in NSW, ACT, WA, and more across Australia.

Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters. ” “

Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. ” “

Being a part of facutly meetings, lunchtime chats, professional development and in class, you are one with the community of the school, building relationships and learning processes; these ‘things’ make you a better teacher, but they also ensure the students are becoming better learners by having teachers that can do all ‘things’ . ” “

“The greatest issue facing the world today is whether those who profess allegiance to Jesus can become His students, steadily learning from Him how to live the life of the Kingdom of Heaven. ”
“
The teacher who loves achievement more than grace will cultivate anxious students; the one who loves comfort more than truth will avoid hard conversations. But when our love is renewed by Christ, something changes. ”

“ But the worries of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it unfruitful. ”
“I begin to think ‘I can actually do this school thing’ . At this school I experienced something with teachers that I hadn’t had for a long time –relationship. The teachers cared. Not just about my grades and effort, but about me... I knew that one day I would be a teacher. ”

I think it’s important to be encouraged that you are arriving to this profession with clarity. Clarity about who you are, where you have come from, why you are passionate for education. ” “
One of the benefits of moving into education after having another profession is that you know yourself more...Another benefit is that life experience is something that can enrich your teaching. Students often respond well to something more personal, something that can be made relevant. Additionally, there are skills I have brought with me from my previous job. Skills relating to leadership, teamwork, organisation, working under pressure, conflict resolution. ”

Three Years of Formative Training
My advice?
Be teachable. Reflect constantly on what you did well in your lessons, and how you can improve. Seek valuable feedback and take every opportunity you can. The next step is challenging and daunting, but with the right mindset and a willingness to grow, it is not only possible but deeply rewarding. ”

“Positive relationships are built through consistent encouragement, genuine interest and positive talk, not as an optional extra but a core part of effective teaching. ”
Because expectations were explicit, students were able to focus on learning rather than decoding instructions. ”

In karaoke, you pick a song youthinkyou know. During a practicum, you pick a lesson youthinkyou understand. Then reality hits: the tempo feels different, the key is a little higher than you expected, and the audience is reacting in ways you didn’t anticipate. That is when you learn to improvise: – you sink or sing! Both karaoke and prac teaching demand confidence you may not fully feel yet. You project energy you’re still developing, you smile through the stumbles, and you keep going, even if you miss a beat. ”
