One of the Acorns came into school this week and said, "It's the Coronation, the King will have a crown!" It brought a great big smile to our faces. Indeed, Charles III will be crowned and we in Acorns would have celebrated accordingly! We began this week by using our rolling skills to roll delicious, condensed milk and coconut balls. We coloured the coconut blue and popped a cherry onto the top. The children have decorated biscuits with coloured sprinkles and made fruit skewers the colour of the Union Jack. We have told the Acorns how much King Charles enjoys the outdoors and has a passion for conservation. We thought it fitting for each child to plant an apple seed to commemorate this historic occasion. We do hope that each tree will grow and be able to be planted in your gardens! We sat beneath an apple tree and the Acorns each had a turn to plant their own seed. We are looking forward to our Royal Party today and the whole school picnic on Friday. Enjoy the extended weekend with all the festivities.
