Reception this week have looked very closely at two footed jumps apart and together. Spot markers were used to create a pathway, which the children had to detect if it was a two footed jump together or apart. The children realised quickly that they needed to swing their arms forward and bend their knees in order to reach the next spot marker successfully. The children then had a go at the sack race, where they displayed fantastic resilience to complete the race.

During Games Reception’s focus is team challenge. This week the children were put into pairs to create an obstacle course out of spot markers, hurdles, hula hoops and cones. The children had to direct one another through the obstacle course thinking carefully about their clear instructions. It was fantastic to see the children’s imagination shine out in this activity.
I hope you and your family have a lovely long weekend, celebrating the King’s Coronation.
