WOW what another busy week in Reception!

With World Book Day inspiring our learning this week, the children have been so busy with all things book related. From drawing their favourite characters to acting out storylines from traditional tales. In the junk modelling area, the children have been learning about using tabs and flanges to join their models together. They have made their favourite book characters and even stickman in the forest with the family tree! In our focus skills sessions, we have continued with our woodwork skills learning to use the saw preparing sticks for our Forest School session.

In Phonics we have looked at the sounds ‘air’ and ‘er’ and then consolidated all of the sounds taught this year. Lessons have been full of Disco bingo, climbing the ladder and what’s in the treasure chest?! Our new writing area has been busy with children writing their own stories and working on their speedy spellings.
