Message from the Head of College
This joyful event celebrates the end of the academic year and welcomes the spirit of Christmas. Christmas is a time when families and friends come together to share the season of giving. In gathering on this evening to share in carols we are reminded of the importance of the Christmas spirit and how it fills our hearts with love and goodwill. So as the sun sets and you raise your candles and voices, let us remember God’s peace and love for all.
On behalf of the College, our P&F, the Music Department, and St Peters Church we are pleased to have this opportunity to bring people together and rejoice in the miracle of Christmas.
Blessings for this festive season.

Christmas Never Gets Old
Lyrics Traditional
It may be a seasons story But find me a greater feelin’
When I point my car down the road to home Christmas, never gets old
I don’t get tired of the singin’ Or reading the same old things
I love ev’ry one of the rituals Christmas, never gets old

The presents are wrapped and the stockings are hung
All the children relieved, all the waiting is done The houses aglow, now look up mistletoe Let’s get on with the show
All of the usual faces

Church bells are ringing it in Gimme red and green, silver and gold Christmas, never gets old

The presents are wrapped and the stockings are hung

All the children relieved, all the waiting is done The houses aglow, now look up mistletoe Let’s get on with the show

All of the usual faces
Church bells are ringing it in Gimme red and green, silver and gold Christmas, never gets old Christmas, never gets old

Lyrics – Traditional
O come all ye faithful, Joyful and triumphant

O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem. Come and behold Him, Born the King of angels.

O come, let us adore Him, O come, let us adore Him, O come, let us adore Him, Christ the Lord!
Yea, Lord, we greet Thee, Born this happy morning; Jesus, to Thee be glory given Word of the Father, Now in flesh appearing:
O come, let us adore Him, O come, let us adore Him, O come, let us adore Him, Christ the Lord!

Sing, choirs of angels, Sing in exultation, Sing, all ye citizens of heaven above! Glory to God, In the highest.
O come, let us adore Him, O come, let us adore Him, O come, let us adore Him, Christ the Lord!
Angels We have Heard on High
Lyrics – Traditional

Angels we have heard on high, Sweetly swinging o’er the plains, And the mountains in reply Echoing their joyous strains.

Gloria In Excelsis Deo, Gloria In Excelsis Deo.
Shepherds, why this jubilee? Why your joyous strains prolong? What the gladsome tidings be Which inspire your heavenly song?

Gloria In Excelsis Deo, Gloria In Excelsis Deo.
Come to Bethlehem and see Him whose birth the angels sing; Come, adore on bended knee Christ the Lord, the newborn King.

Gloria In Excelsis Deo, Gloria In Excelsis Deo.

Angels we have heard on high, Sweetly swinging o’er the plains And the mountains in reply Echoing their joyous strains.
Gloria In Excelsis Deo, Gloria In Excelsis Deo.

Lyrics – Anon. English 17th Century

The first Noel the angel did say Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay, In fields where they lay keeping their sheep, On a cold winter’s night that was so deep.

Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel, Born is the King of Israel.

They looked up and saw a star Shining in the East beyond them far; And to the earth it gave great light, So it continued both day and night.
Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel, Born is the King of Israel.

Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!
Lyrics – Sammy Cahn

Oh, the weather outside is frightful But the fire is so delightful And since we’ve no place to go Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!

It doesn’t show signs of stoppin’ And I bought some corn for poppin’ The lights are turned way down low Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!

When we finally kiss goodnight How I’ll hate going out in the storm But if you’ll really hold me tight All the way home I’ll be warm

The fire is slowly dying And my dear, we’re still goodbye ing But as long as you love me so Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!

When we finally kiss goodnight How I’ll hate going out in the storm But if you’ll really hold me tight All the way home I’ll be warm
The fire is slowly dying And my dear, we’re still goodbye-ing But as long as you love me so Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!
If there’s no place to go, then let it snow!
Santa Claus is Coming to Town

Lyrics – John Coots and Haven Gillespie
You better watch out You better not cry You better not pout I’m telling you why Santa Claus is coming to town (Sing 3 times)
He’s making a list, He’s checking it twice, He’s gonna find out who’s naughty or nice Santa Claus is coming to town (Sing 3 times)
He sees you when you’re sleeping He knows when you’re awake He knows if you’ve been bad or good So be good for goodness sake
You better watch out You better not cry You better not pout, I’m telling you why Santa Claus is coming to town (Sing 3 times)

He sees you when you’re sleeping He knows when you’re awake He knows if you’ve been bad or good So be good for goodness sake
You better watch out You better not cry You better not pout, I’m telling you why Santa Claus is coming Santa Claus is coming Santa Claus is coming to town

All I Want for Christmas Is You
Lyrics Mariah Carey and Walter Afanasieff
I don’t want a lot for Christmas
There is just one thing I need I don’t care about the presents Underneath the Christmas tree

I just want you for my own More than you could ever know Make my wish come true All I want for Christmas is you
I don’t want a lot for Christmas

There is just one thing I need And I don’t care about the presents Underneath the Christmas tree
I don’t need to hang my stocking There upon the fireplace Santa Claus won’t make me happy With a toy on Christmas Day
I just want you for my own More than you could ever know Make my wish come true All I want for Christmas is you
I won’t ask for much this Christmas I won’t even wish for snow And I’m just gonna keep on waiting Underneath the mistletoe

I won’t make a list and send it To the North Pole for Saint Nick I won’t even stay awake to Hear those magic reindeer click
I just want you here tonight Holding on to me so tight What more can I do? All I want for Christmas is you
All the lights are shining so brightly everywhere And the sound of children’s laughter fills the air
And everyone is singing I hear those sleigh bells ringing Santa, won’t you please bring me what I really need? Won’t you please bring my baby to me?
I don’t want a lot for Christmas. This is all I’m asking for I just wanna see my baby Standing right outside my door
I just want you for my own More than you could ever know Make my wish come true All I want for Christmas is you
The Holy City
Lyrics Frederic E. Weatherly
Last night I lay asleeping There came a dream so fair, I stood in old Jerusalem Beside the temple there I heard the children singing And ever as they sang, I thought the voice of Angels From Heaven in answer rang I thought the voice of Angels From Heaven in answer rang
“Jerusalem, Jerusalem!
Lift up your gates and sing, Hosanna in the highest. Hosanna to your King!”
And then methought my dream was changed The streets no longer rang Hushed were the glad hosannas
The little children sang

The sun grew dark with myst’ry, The morn was cold and chill As the shadow of a cross arose Upon a lonely hill As the shadow of a cross arose Upon a lonely hill
“Jerusalem, Jerusalem!
Lift up your gates and sing, Hosanna in the highest. Hosanna to your King!”
And once again the scene was changed New earth there seemed to be, I saw the Holy City Beside the tideless sea

The light of God was on its streets
The gates were opened wide, And all who would might enter And no one was denied.

No need of moon or stars by night, Nor sun to shine by day, It was a new Jerusalem That would not pass away It was a new Jerusalem That would not pass away

Jerusalem, Jerusalem!
Lift up your gates and sing, Hosanna in the highest.
Hosanna evermore Hosanna, in the highest Hosanna for evermore!

Silent Night
Lyrics – Joseph Mohr
Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht Alles schläft; einsam wacht Nur das traute hoch heilige Paar Holder Knabe im lockigen Haar Schlaf in himmlischer Ruh Schlaf in himmlischer Ruh
Silent night, holy night Shepherds quake, at the sight Glories stream from heaven afar Heav’nly hosts sing Alleluia Christ the Saviour is born Christ the Saviour is born

Silent night, holy night Son of God, love’s pure light Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With dawn of redeeming grace Jesus Lord, at Thy birth Jesus Lord, at Thy birth
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer

Lyrics – Johnny Marks
Rudolph the red nosed reindeer Had a very shiny nose And if you ever saw it You would even say it glows

All of the other reindeer Used to laugh and call him names They never let poor Rudolph Join in any reindeer games

Then one foggy Christmas Eve Santa came to say Rudolph with your nose so bright Won’t you guide my sleigh tonight?
Then now the reindeers loved him And they started out with glee Rudolph the red nosed reindeer You’ll go down in history!
Then one foggy Christmas Eve Santa came to say Rudolph with your nose so bright Won’t you guide my sleigh tonight?
Then now the reindeers loved him And they started out with glee Rudolph the red nosed reindeer You’ll go down in history!
Away in a Manger

Away in a manger, no crib for a bed, The little Lord Jesus laid down his sweet head. The stars in the bright sky looked down where he lay, The little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay.
The cattle are lowing, the baby awakes, But little Lord Jesus no crying he makes. I love thee, Lord Jesus! Look down from the sky, And stay by my side until morning is nigh.
Be near me, Lord Jesus; I ask thee to stay Close by me forever, and love me, I pray.
Bless all the dear children in thy tender care, And fit us for heaven, to live with thee there.
Here Comes Santa Claus
Lyrics Gene Autry

Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus right down Santa Claus Lane Vixen and Blitzen and all his reindeer pulling on the reins Bells are ringin’, children singin’ all is merry and bright Hang your stockings and say your prayers, ‘cause Santa Claus comes tonight

Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus right down Santa Claus Lane He’s got a bag that’s filled with toys for the boys and girls again Hear those sleigh bells jingle jangle, what a beautiful sight Jump in bed, cover up your head, ‘cause Santa Claus comes tonight, tonight Santa Claus comes tonight!
Happy days
As Santa Claus comes your way, today
Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus right down Santa Claus Lane He doesn’t care if you’re rich or poor for he loves you just the same Santa knows that we’re God’s children and that makes everything right Fill your hearts with the Christmas cheer ‘cause Santa Claus comes tonight, tonight Santa Claus comes tonight, stand by
Peace on Earth will come to all, if we just follow the light Let’s give thanks to the Lord above, ‘cause Santa Claus comes tonight Happy days! Here comes Santa Claus!
Jingle Bells / Aussie Jingle Bells

Dashing through the snow

In a one horse open sleigh O’er the fields we go Laughing all the way Bells on bobtails ring Making spirits bright What fun it is to ride and sing A sleighing song tonight
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh, hey!
Jingle bells, jingle bells

Jingle all the way Oh, what fun it is to ride In a one horse open sleigh

Dashing through the bush

In a rusty Holden ute Kicking up the dust Esky in the boot Kelpie by my side Singing Christmas songs It’s summer time And I am in my singlet, shorts and thongs
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way Christmas in Australia
On a scorching summer’s day, hey!
Jingle bells, jingles bells Christmas time is beaut Oh, what fun it is to ride
In a rusty Holden ute
Lyrics James Pierpont (Jingle Bells) and Bucko & Champs (Aussie Jingle Bells)Jingle Bell Rock

Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock Jingle bells chime in jingle bell time Dancin’ and prancin’ in Jingle Bell Square In the frosty air
What a bright time, it’s the right time To rock the night away Jingle bell time is a swell time To go glidin’ in a one-horse sleigh
Giddy up, jingle horse, pick up your feet Jingle around the clock Mix and mingle in a jinglin’ beat That’s the jingle bell That’s the jingle bell That’s the jingle bell That’s the jingle bell rock
Run Rudolph Run
Lyrics Johnny Marks and Chuck Berry
Out of all the reindeers you know you’re the mastermind Run, run Rudolph, Randolph ain’t too far behind

Run, run Rudolph, Santa's got to make it to town Santa make him hurry, tell him he can take the freeway down Run, run Rudolph, I'm spinning like a merry go round
Said Santa to a boy child, “What have you been longing for?”
“All I want for Christmas is a rock ‘n’ roll electric guitar” And then away went Rudolph, a-whizzing like a shooting star

Run, run Rudolph, Santa's got to make it to town Santa make him hurry, tell him he can take the freeway down Run, run Rudolph, I'm spinning like a merry go round
Run run Rudolph, Santa's got to make it to town Santa make him hurry, tell him he can take the freeway down Run, run Rudolph, I'm spinning like a merry go round
Said Santa to a girl child, “What would please you most to get?”
“A little baby doll that can cry, and sleep, and drink and wet And then away went Rudolph, a whizzing like a Saber jet
Run, run Rudolph, Santa's got to make it to town Santa make him hurry, tell him he can take the freeway down Run, run Rudolph, I'm spinning like a merry go round
Please Come Home for Christmas
Charles Brown and Gene Redd
Bells will be ringing this sad, sad news Oh, what a Christmas to have the blues

My baby’s gone, I have no friends To wish me greetings once again

Choirs will be singing “Silent Night” Christmas carols by candlelight Please come home for Christmas Please come home for Christmas If not for Christmas, by New Year’s night

Friends and relations send salutations Sure as the stars shine above But this is Christmas, Christmas my dear The time of year to be with the ones you love
So tell me darling you’ll never more roam Christmas and New Year’s will find you home There’ll be no more sorrow, no grief and pain And I’ll be happy, happy once again
There’ll be no more sorrow, no grief and pain And I’ll be happy, Christmas once again, again
LyricsThe Prayer
Lyrics Carol Bayer Sager and David Foster

I pray you’ll be our eyes
And watch us where we go. And help us to be wise In times when we don’t know
Let this be our prayer when we lost our way

Lead us to a place Guide us with your grace Give us faith so we’ll be safe
La luce che tu dai

I pray we’ll find your light Nel cuore resterà And hold it in our hearts A ricordarci che When stars go out each night L’eterna stella sei

Nella mia preghiera

Let this be our prayer Quanta fede c’e When shadows fill our day Lead us to a place Guide us with your grace Give us faith so we’ll be safe
Sogniamo un mondo senza pi violenza Un mondo di giustizia e di speranza Ognuno dia la mano al suo vicino Simbolo di pace e di fraternità
La forza che ci dai
We ask that life be kind È il desiderio che And watch us from above Ognuno trovi amore And hope each soul will find Intorno e dentro a sei Another soul to love
Let this be our prayer
Just like every child Needs to find a place Guide us with your grace Give us faith so we’ll be safe E la fede che Hai acceso in noi Sento che ci salvera
