We’re excited to welcome students from inside and outside the St. Paul’s community to a fun-filled summer! We hope you will join us for Traditional Day Camp, Specialty Camps, or a mix of both!

SUMMER IN THE CITY: TRADITIONAL DAY CAMP

Traditional Day Camp is a flexible camp full of activities and weekly themes for incoming toddlers through eighth graders. Camp is offered from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily with an option to come earlier and stay later at no additional cost. You may choose to attend a full day or a half day (9 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.), and you may select the days that work best for you (from one day per week to five days per week). Please note: Toddler - PreK afternoon naps are provided for students enrolled in PM Traditional Day Camp as needed.

SUMMER IN THE CITY: SPECIALTY CAMP

Our specialty camps offer children from toddler through 8th grade opportunities to explore their interests, create, cook, craft, tinker, and more. One week of notice is required to change to a different camp. Please note: Afternoon naps are only accomodated through our Traditional Day Camp program.

EARLY ROOM AND EXTENDED DAY CARE

Early care beginning at 7:45 a.m. and extended day care until 6:00 p.m. are provided at no additional cost.

LUNCH

Lunch is served daily at noon and is included in your camp fee for those registered for full day.

FIELD TRIPS

Many of our camps will take field trips throughout the summer! Most field trip fees are included in the camp fee.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Full refunds are given when a written request is received two weeks or more before the start of the camp. A 75% refund is given upon written request two weeks prior to the camp start date. Minimum enrollment numbers must be met for each camp to be offered. If a camp must be cancelled due to low enrollment, you will be notified one week prior to the camp start date. If a camp is canceled, you may select another camp or request a full refund.

SAFETY

All staff are CPR/First Aid trained. In addition, they attend Safeguarding God’s Children and St. Paul’s Summer in the City training to provide a safe and quality camp experience for all students.

A full-time security guard will be on duty throughout the summer. Additionally, all external doors are locked at all times. If we are walking to a field trip location, security will accompany the group.

DON’T FORGET

Each child must bring a labeled water bottle every day at camp. Please label any extra materials needed for specialty camps (examples: American Girl Doll. jacket. etc.)

We encourage students to wear clothes and shoes that allow for active play (flip-flops are discouraged).

TRADITIONAL DAY CAMP

TODDLERS THROUGH 8TH GRADE

Traditional Day Camp is a flexible camp full of activities and weekly themes for incoming toddlers through incoming eighth graders. Camp is offered from 9 a.m. –4 p.m. daily with an option to come earlier and stay later at no additional cost. Weekly camps will include activities that follow the themes listed below; activities will be adjusted to suit students of various ages.

Week 1 - Disney Magic (June 5-9)

Disney might be the most magical place on Earth, but Summer in the City at St. Paul’s is a close second! Summer in the City is a place that feels magical, sparks imagination, and encourages kids to explore. This week in camp, we will dive deep into the wonder of Disney including the science behind the rides, hands-on Disney crafts, Disney inspired snacks and more. Feel free to wear your favorite Disney character shirt all week. On Friday we will have a Disney Dance Party.

Week 2 - Planes, Trains & Automobiles (June 12-16)

What makes a plane fly or a train go? Come and enjoy all things art and motion! We will make replicas of moving vehicles while learning about the math and art involved in transportation design. Campers will have a blast sharing and playing with their unique transportation builds in this dynamic camp! Mrs. B will swing by to tune up our math skills by teaching math formulas involving vehicles. Roy Moye III, an aerospace engineer, dynamic singer, and the founder of STEMusic LLC will also help us end the week with a STEM concert on Friday morning.

Week 3 - Amazing Summer Challenge (June 19-23)

Challenge your camper’s mind and body this summer in our amazing summer challenge. Campers will earn points throughout the week during fun competitions designed to get campers working as a team to overcome physical and mental obstacles. The objective is to build teamwork skills while promoting trust and collaboration between campers. Get ready to outwit, outplay, and outlast.

Week 4 - Stars & Stripes (June 26-30)

Calling all patriotic citizens! Join us for a unique exploration of the United States and some of its most memorable moments in history. We will collaborate to create an American flag-inspired artistic work and learn the lyrics and meanings of our nation’s anthem and patriotic songs. We will learn about the history of Independence Day and discover the origins of many of our most popular 4th of July traditions in a fun way!

Week 5 - Around the World (July 10-14)

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to travel the world? Come travel with us to Africa, Europe, Asia, North America, and South America. Campers will make woven mats in Egypt, play ping pong in China, make shamrock crafts in Ireland, participate in carreras de saco in Costa Rica and play futbol in Brazil!

Week 6 - Event Planning 101 (July 17-21)

Join us for a fun week of party planning. Campers will learn how to accessorize parties, send thank you notes, create unique party themes, plan a party menu, table setting, etiquette, and more! When the course is completed, students will receive a certificate as a professional party planner & host their own classroom party. Mrs. B will give us a lesson on the math formulas to help with budgeting for a party.

Week 7 - Splish Splash (July 24-28)

Grab your swimming suit and towel and join us every day for some “cool down fun.” We will spend the week playing in the sun, running through the sprinkler, and making summer treats! We will also have an end of camp picnic and spend time signing Summer in the City camp memory/autograph books.

St. Paul’s Eat ‘n Play

Campers can dine at “Eat ‘n Play” - a full-service RESTAURANT for dramatic play/ role play. Kids will use their imaginations to become chefs, hosts, waiters, and customers.

The World of Eric Carle Art

Like Eric Carle, all children have experiences in their lives that make good stories. We will use Carle’s tissue painting technique to illustrate the story of our lives!

Art Adventures

Calling all artists! Join Ms. Fisher as we create and explore a variety of media including water colors, paints, oils, and so much more.

Dinosaur Discoveries

Join Mrs. Bruns as we we learn all about amazing prehistoric creatures. We will learn about some of our favorite dinosaurs and maybe even a few new ones. We will have a week filled with prehistoric fun and facts.

Little Passports

This camp will spark curiosity, explore new ideas about unfamiliar places, and celebrate cultures. Campers will enjoy globally inspired experiences, stories, and hands-on art and science activities.

Cooks and Books

Each day students will read a new story that will inspire our cooking theme for the day. Tacos, blueberry pie, and homemade pasta are just a few things that might grace our menu and storytime!

City Market Chefs

Join this camp as we travel to the popular City Market, learn how to pick out the best produce, identify creative ways to cook healthy and enjoy the art of cooking! On Friday, students will share what they learned in a cooking show!

Summer Leap

Turn the Summer Slide into a Summer Leap by taking this Scholastic based LitCamp/ literacy program that combines innovative lessons with an engaging and interactive summer camp approach. Students will make reading, writing, and social-emotional gains that they’ll carry back to school in the fall.

Grade: 2nd - 3rd

Community Connection

Campers will participate in community service projects, both on and off campus. Potential activies include volunteering at a local food pantry, caring for animal shelter pets, and gardening at a community urban garden, just to name a few. Middle schoolers can use their time in this camp towards their annual community service hours.

Spain Visit - Prep Camp

If you are considering traveling with your St. Paul’s peers to Spain in 8th grade, this camp is a must! Spend the week focusing on immersion experiences and speaking the language. Plus, it’s a great way to have fun with friends and Srta. Carmen.

Checkmate Challenge Chess Camp

The Kansas City Chess Club’s certified staff will show beginners through advanced students how to improve their play. Daily activities will include casual play, chess lessons, training exercises, building Lego chess sets and chessboards, All levels are welcome!

Runway Fashion Design

The Fashion Design class is all about you! Create a “line” of clothing, from dressy to casual chic! Come up with your own design for a school uniform and make an outfit for yourself using clothes from your closet. It will be fun… and chic too! We will walk the runway with the campers and as our audience.

Minecraft Camp

Campers will bring Minecraft to real life building objects from a favorite game to life! Build a torch lamp to brighten up your room, design a farm or fortress of your dreams, let your imagination go wild in this STEAM camp!

Discover KC: Neighborhoods

Summer in the City will have a special camp for students to learn about Kansas City. Whether they are a native or a visitor there’s lots to learn. We will learn about the geography behind neighborhoods in Kansas City from 18th & Vine to Country Club Plaza, Downtown, Southwest Blvd, and many more!

WEEK 2 (JUNE 12 - 16)

Lego Camp

Prepare to create your own Lego City during this exciting week at St. Paul’s with Mrs. Englund! Build anything from roads to skyscrapers with your friends while exploring the art of architecture and letting your imagination run wild!

Career Day Week

“When I grow up, I want to be…” Each day, our campers will experience a different career where they learn the ins and outs of thrilling professions.

Magic Tree House

Welcome to a week of adventure! We will travel in time, play games, and learn about the cultures of fantastic places. You will collaborate with friends to write your own chapters in the Jack and Annie saga. We will also learn about Merlin, Morgan, and King Arthur.

If You Give a Pig a Pancake

Come laugh with us while enjoying breakfast treats. Enjoy Laura Numeroff’s books while eating and creating some delicious breakfast items. We will explore all the stories while crafting and preparing yummy treats. Don’t let the Pig and the Moose be the only ones enjoying pancakes and muffins!

Book It Camp

Celebrate your favorite books and characters all week long! Students will be registerested with the BOOK It Club and will earn a free pizza from Pizza Hut for meeting their reading goal. Pizza Hut’s Camp BOOK IT also features some super fun activities related to books along the way.

Survivor School

Your camper will discover what it takes to survive a zombie apocalypse, learn about zombie folklore throughout history, forage through catastrophes on Earth and Mars, and plan how to survive various hypothetical events that could occur in the future of humanity.

Pinata Making Camp

In this cultural arts camp, we will make various paper mache pinatas. Piñatas have a rich and fascinating history, even the sticks used; campers will learn about the history. Campers will get to visit the pinata gallery at the end of the camp.

Making in the Space

Students will openly create in the Makerspace. Ideas include projects with circuits and soldering, laser cutting, and more! We will also take a trip to Scraps KC to find materials for their creations.

Pool Games at Emler

Come swim with your friends all week at Emler! Play Marco Polo, Sharks & Minnows, and Scavenger Dive for cool prizes that you can keep!

Myth Busters

Start your camper off on a path of critically cool thinking where they help bust common myths, folklore, and scientific misconception through the scientific method. They’ll investigate quirky science like possible benefits of a sailor’s eye patch and whether toilets or commonly used items are germier.

Sensory Shenanigans

Ready to dip your fingers into oozing oobleck? Play Smell and Go Seek? Put all of your senses to the test for some Sensory Shenanigans. Make an explosion with Mentos and pop rocks and explore sensory science! Plus, the mess stays at St. Paul’s.

Jungle Jammin’

Join us on a jungle-tastic adventure and expedition! We’ll move and sound like lions, exotic birds, monkeys, elephants, and more. Come and listen to jungle stories, craft animal art projects and masks, make drums and create some outrageous jungle rhythms, and sing some fun jungle inspired songs.

Summer is “Smore” Fun with Friends

Little Campers will experience both indoor and outdoor camping activities all week. We will learn camping tricks, read camping books, make smores, and sing camping songs! Campers will leave with lifelong friends and memories as we live the tent life for the week. .

Self Care in the City

Campers will learn the basics of self care and wellness. Every day, we will participate in fun self care activities, including making our own face masks, going on nature walks, learning about mindfulness, doing yoga flows, and journaling. Campers will learn about why self care is important and end their camp day feeling relaxed and recharged!

Squishy Camp

There’s a whole world of squishies to explore! We will use flex it foam to create crazy and crafty squishies that are fun for all ages. Come join us on a fantastic learning adventure! Did we mention that you get to take home the squishies you create each day?

City Travelers

We will go on field trips using our feet, city bus, and street car. We will visit the Kansas City main Library, City Market, and other places close to school. Let’s go on some local adventures!

Discover KC: Food

Summer in the City will have a special camp for students to learn about Kansas City. Whether they are a native or a visitor there’s lots to learn. We will learn about special restaurants known for their famous barbeque, ramen, pizza, fried chicken and more. We will learn the history of restaurants like Joe’s KC, and create our own recipes.

Modge Podge & All the Hodge

Campers will engage in something interesting, silly, and exciting every day using Mod Podge glue and other crafting supplies. What will you make this week? Come find out!

Feelings, Friendship & Fun

Foster your child’s social emotional learning with a week of activities that promote emotional awareness and management, selfregulation, and relationship building. Students will engage in Sunshine Circles, picture book activities, and build SEL skills through play.

Emler Swim School Camp

Campers will bus to Emler Swim School to improve on their swimming skills and increase endurance on strokes learned previously, including front and elementary backstroke, breaststroke, sidestroke with scissor kick, and the butterfly. Skills learned include head first entries, survival swimming, and treading water using 2 kicks. Parents are welcome to meet us there at 9:45am 2848 W 47th Ave, KC, KS

American Girl

For a fun-filled week of games, crafts, cooking, and adventures, grab your American Girl, Magic Attic, or other 18” doll and bring her to camp! We will complete activities with some of our favorite girls: Kirsten, Julie, Kit, Kaya, Samantha, Addy, and more! .

YouTube Fanatic

We will make slime, have a squishy makeover, and enjoy some toy unboxing. Students will make a try not to laugh challenge, Disney challenge, and the Kids 30 days of reading challenge. Students should bring a book each day. (Note: We won’t actually watch YouTube).

Stomp

Inspired by the Broadway show, Stomp, we will make music and create movement using everyday items from around the school. This high-energy week culminates with a performance created by students. Warning: we sometimes make big noises and big messes!

Breakfast Bunch

Skip breakfast at home, and come on in to St. Paul’s Breakfast Bunch! Campers will fry bacon, crack eggs, and flip pancakes. Don’t miss out on the fun as we design cool aprons to take home, create recipe books, and enjoy delicious breakfast creations.

Diversity Ambassadors Camp

Campers will attend a diversity inclusion training. Campers will participate in engaging activities and discussions to help campers speak up against stereotypes and bias. At the conclusion of the camp, campers will receive a St. Paul’s Diversity Student Ambassador Training certificate.

Lego Camp

Discover KC: Lakes & Trails

Learn all about our hometown, Kansas City! Whether a camper is a KC native, a tranplant or a visitor. there’s lots to learn and see. Students should bring their walking shoes to get their exercise on trails around the city such as the Brush Creek Trail, Jacob L. Loose Park Trail, and others!

Roblox: Adopt Me

Adopt and raise pets and kids, decorate your home, and roleplay with friends in the magical world of our real life Roblox Adopt Me Camp. Students will use iPads for 30 mins of constructive virtual play every day of camp.

Activism 101

Campers will learn about activists who advocated for change throughout history and today. We will visit local museums and organizations to learn about what activism looks like and how activists have changed the world. Through this, we will explore what activism means to us in the 21st Century, and how we can use our voices for good.

WEEK 4 (JUNE 26 - 30)

Lemonade Stand Business Academy

Campers become entrepreneurs as they make the best homemade lemonade and set up a business. Campers will design marketing flyers, estimate profits, and experiment with baked good recipes. At the end of the week, campers will sell their products. All money raised will support our Sister School, Holy Cross in Haiti.

Harry Potter

We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Kansas City. You will study topics including fantastic beasts, potions, the history of Hogwarts USA, transfiguration, and dueling.

Second Grade Superstars

Learn all things second grade while having summer fun! We will enjoy learning activites around summer themes like camping, ice cream, swimming, and more.

World Drums & Street Percussion!

Students will explore rhythmic expression and drumming history using world drums like the djembe’, dumbek, bongo, conga, darrabuka, frame drums and street percussion (buckets).

Floating in Space

In this sound and music camp, we will introduce campers to the world of ASMR with performance artist Lou Barnell. Participants will create their own ASMR soundscapes and learn about listening and relaxation techniques.

The Next Great Baker

Explore the word of baking and create a delicious array of treats. If your child is one that likes helping you in the kitchen, this is a week you don’t want to miss. We will be lbaking up some delicious treats.

Future Leaders

Learn what takes to be a leader! Campers will make new friends and take turns being a leader through team building projects and conversations. Campers will gain confidence and skills that will help them grow and make the community a better place!

Music Mania Camp
