The Parents’ Association have been very busy fundraising to assist our school with the additional costs associated with the provision of an Autism Room which is due to open in September, roof repairs and the purchase of fire extinguishers. The following events have helped in our fundraising efforts:
Easter Raffle
The Parents’ Association organised fantastic prizes from local businesses for our annual Easter Raffle which took place on 29th March. Tickets were sold in the school and were also available to purchase online via idonate.ie. This raffle raised €2,218 and has been our most successful raffle to date!

The Sound of Music
The Parents’ Association sourced local businesses to sponsor a page in the programme of the school musical for ‘The Sound of Music’. A donation of 25 euro secured a company logo to appear as an ad on the page. Our PA also hosted a raffle each night of the production and there were some fantastic prizes and vouchers supplied by local businesses. The raffle combined with the ads raised €1,934.
Bag Packing in Dunnes Stores, The Square
On the weekend of the 5th and 6th May, students and parents helped fundraise for the school bag packing in Dunnes Stores. A huge thank you to all students who signed up to help and gave willingly of their free time to support this fundraiser. An impressive €1,039 was raised over the weekend. Students were rewarded with a homework pass and a pizza party from Domino’s Pizza!

Classes for Parents
Parent classes were held in the Parents’ Room including Life coaching, Irish conversational classes and a Master Makeup class. We also continued our weekly Friday Fitness walk in Tymon Park and our Zumba class with the amazing Aoife McManus. There was great energy from the parents who participated so enthusiastically in all these classes.
Parents on Tour!
A trip to Glasnevin Cemetery was organised for parents/ guardians in May and it was a fantastic day out! We enjoyed a guided tour of the Cemetery and visited the graves of iconic figures from Irish history such as Daniel O’Connell, Michael Collins, Eamon De Valera and Countess Markievicz. We even had time for coffee and some lunch!
Lastly, a very heartfelt THANK YOU to the Parents’ Association for all their hard work and support. A special word of thanks to Eileen Creagh, Mairead Greene and Barbara Hayden who have been such supportive members of our PA for six years. We appreciate all the time, energy and enthusiasm each of you have invested in the PA. You will be sincerely missed and will always be friends of St. Paul’s.
