St. Patrick School
Est. 1963
In August of 1963, seven Sisters of Mercy traveled from Ennis, Ireland to Arroyo Grande to bring Catholic education to the area. The school is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges, as well as the Western Catholic Education Association. St. Patrick School remains committed to faithbased education which provides an enlightened curriculum for all students. The legacy of tradition and excellence established by the Sisters of Mercy remains at the heart of the St. Patrick School Community.

1stgradecollectschangetodonatetotheAlisaAnnRuch BurnFoundation.FirstRespondersvisitourschool annually,discussingfiresafetyandhowdonationshelp childrenwhoareburnvictimsgetbetter.Weprayforthe burnvictimsalongwiththesafetyofourfirefighters.
Mercy Projects
AnnualHalloweenCostumeDrive~4th/KMercyProject.4th graderscreateposters&generateenthusiasmforthis projectvisitingindividualclassgrades.Costumesare collected,sorted,anddonatedto The Children’s Resource Network of the Central Coast.Halloweenisalarge,fun celebrationatourschoolculminatinginacostumeparade. Thevalueofthiseventteachesourstudentsnotallchildren inourcommunityareabletoaffordyearlycostumes.
Throughouttrimester#2,eachofthesixelectiveclasses,grades6th8th,createditemstosellforourannualValentine’sDayMarket.Each class makes a gift idea reflective of the learnings in their specific class. The graphic design elective made posters, cards and bookmarks, floral design created flower arrangements, art elective designed original art images along with painted key chains and baking produced muffins and cookies. The gym was set up with beautiful gifts and the students ran their market for the student body. younger students had great fun shopping with their older school buddies! Business success, the market sold out before lunch. The classes raised over $1,100 purchasing duffle bags and birthday boxesfromTogetherWeRiseForChildreninfostercare.Thelaststep was decorating and stuffing the duffle bags including the birthday boxes, which were given to the Family Care Network. The students were gratified knowing their efforts provided joy to local children in need.
