CEO/Festival Director
Storyfest has grown into a dynamic, city-wide celebration of storytelling, inspiring readers and writers of all ages. We’re proud to partner with families and corporate champions who share our passion for fostering literacy and unlocking the joy of reading in children.
As we continue to grow, the heart of Storyfest remains rooted in community connection. Through interactive events, creative workshops, and meaningful collaborations, we aim to ignite a lifelong love of storytelling in children and bring families closer together through the magic of words.
I’m thrilled to invite you to be part of this storytelling journey! This tailored partnership proposal is designed with you in mind.
Storyfest is more than books and events—it’s a storytelling movement bringing communities together. Let’s create unforgettable stories, one page at a time!
Ms Andrea Lewis CEO/Festival Director
We’re writing our next chapter...
Storyfest has earned a reputation as Australia’s premier children’s literacy festival, making an impact in the community for more than 30 years, the cornerstone of the festival being a three-day event on the Gold Coast.
With your support we want to share stories and build better lives for more young people , across the country.
Storyfest advances literature in the communities where we share our storytelling experiences through author sessions, workshops and masterclasses. Our reach has expanded to regional Queensland, delivering memorable programmes for young people stimulating curiosity, creativity and empathy in Longreach, St George, Emerald and in 2025 the Sunshine Coast.
In just one year, from 2023 to 2024 we grew:
• 42% more authors (From 31 to 44)
• 49% increase in festival activities (From 96 to 143)
• 96+ schools impacted annually, inspiring thousands of students
Together, we can inspire the next generation of storytellers!
Your involvement will:
• Expand access to life-changing workshops, masterclasses, and author experiences.
• Bridge the gap for remote and disadvantaged students, ensuring all young people can engage with storytelling.
• Ignite creativity, literacy, and confidence in thousands of young minds.
Partnering with Storyfest is a prime avenue to align your organisation with our cultural growth and build your profile in the education and arts sector throughout the Gold Coast and Queensland. You’ll also be exposed to our network of those who share your approach to corporate citizenship.

So, partner with Storyfest and help us write our next chapter.
Tuesday to Thursday
The student days allow children from Prep to Year 12 from schools in Queensland and Northern New South Wales to meet a range of writers. There are book signings and sales which provide readers with the opportunity to meet the writers. The exciting workshops, sessions and performances encourage children to engage with literature in a fresh and inspiring way.
Tuesday to Thursday
Interactive writing workshops and panel sessions are offered to adult audiences. These are mostly free sessions held in the community, at venues such as our local library and shopping centres. These adult offerings are becoming increasingly popular and we desire to see them grow.
| Prologue Party
Tuesday
The Prologue Party serves as the official launch of Storyfest, introducing the writers to the public and generating media interest. This free event is for adults and children, with various activities, sessions and performances providing a truly festive atmosphere.
| Literary Lunch
Wednesday
The festival programme includes a luncheon with a keynote speaker. The community is invited to attend this event. Adult functions such as this provide opportunities to meet and mingle with authors and fellow festival supporters. Events like this receive great response from the community.
| Young Writers’ Dinner
Wednesday
The Young Writers’ Dinner provides those aged 10 and above with a ‘once in a lifetime opportunity’ - to spend an exciting evening workshopping with some of Australia’s bestselling kids and YA fiction writers. Parents join VIPs to watch performances at the close of the evening.
| Young Illustrators’ Breakfast
Thursday
Children spend the morning with talented children’s illustrators allowing their imaginations to soar as we share stories, swap tips, and sketch our way through a fun-filled breakfast.
| Literary Long Table
Thursday
The Literary Long Table dinner provides the opportunity for adults from the community to share an enjoyable evening with some of Australia’s best authors. Featuring standout food and wine, guests enjoy the atmosphere as they are seated at long tables surrounding the stunning Towers Quad at Somerset College.
There are two national competitions which provide opportunities to high school students throughout Australia to participate in a National Novella Writing, National Poetry Prize. It is a wonderful opportunity for serious student writers, encouraging them in their literary growth.
Winners will be announced at the Young Writers’ Dinner.
Authors, volunteers, students, staff and festival guests love sharing their stories and excitement.

The Sponsored Schools Programme provides opportunities to disadvantaged children to experience Somerset Storyfest. The students meet authors and illustrators, have books signed and enjoy a festival dedicated to reading and writing.
The Programme’s objective is to expose as many children as possible to writers, illustrators and their books, giving the students the opportunity to workshop stories with their presenting authors thereby encouraging the students to embrace the value of reading. There is no substitute for books in the life of a child.
Sponsorship includes tickets to author sessions, transportation, accommodation and meals*. This is a unique programme and we encourage you to join with us to support these children.
Contributing funds are tax deductible.
