AFTER
500 Place d’Armes was designed by Montréal Architects Pierre Boulva and Jacques David in the ‘International Style’ and is located on the historic Place d’Armes Square in Old Montréal. Completed in 1968 as the Banque Canadienne Nationale Tower at 32 storeys, it is Montreal’s 11th tallest building totaling 435 feet. THE CHALLENGE As part of upgrades and wayfinding improvements to the garage, Cromwell Management wanted to improve the aesthetics of the parking structure while maintaining safety, with work initially focused on levels 0, 2 and 4 of this 6-level parking garage. Due to the high traffic volume, the customer insisted the garage remain open to the public during the duration of the installation.
THE SOLUTION StonDeck XD2 was chosen for its unique combination of safety and superior aesthetic properties. Our professional team approach allowed us to work on several levels at a time to maintain traffic flow in the garage. Installation was completed within 3 working weeks with minimal disruption to daily function of the garage, leaving the customer delighted with the end result. Additional levels are scheduled for completion in 2015. StonDeck XD2 is a flexible, solvent-free car park deck coating system which provides a crack bridging, waterproof wearing surface for indoor covered parking decks, underground parking garages and walkways. It cosmetically enhances parking facilities while reducing tire noise and provides a lighter, safer environment for both vehicles and pedestrians.
