POTASH CORPORATION | SUSSEX, NEW BRUNSWICK PROJECT: Potash Corporation Sussex | AREA: Pump Motor Pedestals, Curbs, Bases PRODUCTS: Stonset CG4, Stonset CG5 THE CHALLENGE The concrete equipment bases and pedestals in this Potash facility had severely corroded, due to chemicals and constant vibration.

Replacement of the affected concrete was required every 2 years.

THE STONHARD SOLUTION Stonset CG4 and Stonset CG5 Castable Grout were selected for the pedestals and bases. This system is ideal in severely corrosive areas where heat, chemicals and acids are a challenge.

Vibration analysis, performed by Sussex Potash Corporation engineers, suggested that Stonhard Castable Grout Stonset CG4 and Stonset CG5 reduced vibration by 40%, compared with concrete. The result means lower maintenance and replacement costs for pumps and motors.
