PERFECTLY LOCATED in a beautiful area

Situated on the western edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds, Market Rasen is a picturesque market town that has become a soughtafter place to live for many reasons.

Originally known as East Rasen, Market Rasen was a smaller settlement until it was granted its market charter in 1219. This event transformed the area into a prominent destination, attracting visitors from across the county. As the town's significance grew, it was renamed Market Rasen. A traditional market is still held to this day every Tuesday.

The River Rase flows through Market Rasen and is a haven for wildlife and boasts the perfect habitat for flora and fauna.

MARKET RASEN: preserving history and heritage

Market Rasen is a charming town where history meets the hustle and bustle of modern life.

Welcoming coffee shops, tea rooms, bistros, restaurants and cosy pubs - and you’ll find them around every corner. From a full English breakfast, to a light lunch, or a decadent afternoon cream tea, Market Rasen is home to several delicious eateries including the award winning 2 Rosette Advocate Arms.

Independent, often family run shops include Garnett's, a traditional sweet shop offering sherbet, fudge and liquorice - in fact, any sweet treat you can think of! Ironmongers, family butchers (Lincolnshire sausage is a culinary speciality known for its unique flavour), haberdashery, gift-ware and a wool shop all serve up a bespoke shopping experience

in this quaint town. A traditional farmers market can still be enjoyed every Tuesday on Market Rasen's cobbled streets.

The town celebrates its historic architecture with grand Georgian buildings, however the architecture is predominantly Victorian. Notable buildings include the Old Corn Exchange, the 12th century Church of St Thomas and the Magistrates’ Court, which dates back to 1849.

If you want to learn more about the history of Market Rasen, the town’s award winning (and free) heritage trail takes you on an interactive tour visiting key landmarks across the town, and divulging some fascinating stories along the way! Once you've worked up an appetite, try the sweet plum bread for which Lincolnshire is famed.

A visit to The Chocolate Drop on the outskirts of Market Rasen is a must to appreciate 30 years of the finest artisan chocolate and the creators of the award winning 'Special Edition Chocolate'.

Lincolnshire has a proud history of British agriculture and produces around 20% of the UK's homegrown food. Unsurprisingly you can buy the freshest of products at local farm shops and cafés boasting butchers, delicatessens and fabulous cakes and treats.

Market Rasen's close association with West Lindsey, the UK’s second happiest place to live, offers residents plenty of time to relax, meander and enjoy its natural beauty.

OUT AND ABOUT natural beauty and 'big skies'

Nestled in the heart of the East Midlands, the Lincolnshire Wolds, designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1973, boasts some of the most breathtaking and unspoilt scenery in the region.

Whether you enjoy the lure of the coast, scenic hikes, woodland adventures, or cycling routes, the Lincolnshire Wolds has something to offer every outdoor enthusiast. Willingham Woods, located to the east of Market Rasen, features a 3.5km circular route. For those seeking a more substantial walk, the north route of the Lindsey trail is a 16km circuit whereas the full Lindsey trail forms a 111km loop around the Lincolnshire Wolds.

Lincolnshire is famed for its big skies and in the heart of the Wolds, with minimal light pollution, you'll discover the perfect opportunity for star gazing.

Market Rasen racecourse has a long and distinguished history in horse racing and the racecourse stages over 20 jump racing

fixtures each year. The venue also plays host to concerts and event days.

Such is the esteem in which the racecourse is held by racing industry professionals that it has been chosen by the Racehorse Owners Association as one of the top six smaller racecourses in Britain for the last three years.

Market Rasen Golf Club is one of the top 10 courses in Lincolnshire. The club was awarded Championship venue status in 2021. The club boasts a picturesque setting with the River Rase flowing through the course and the clubhouse overlooking the 18th green. There is a golf driving range too.

The city of Lincoln, standing on the River Witham, is around 16 miles away by car. It is renowned for its stunning Cathedral and Castle, both of which offer rich historical insights. The city boasts culture, shopping and leisure opportunities and everything else you'd expect from Lincolnshire's county town.

Our

House, Your Home SUSTAINABILITY

we take our responsibilities seriously

There are so many reasons to consider investing in a new build property, not least for their energy efficiency, reduced impact on the environment, and green credentials.

The Home Builders Federation report that in total, new build purchasers are not only saving money, but they are having a more positive effect on the environment too, when compared to older properties.

Savings are achieved by using advanced build materials, as new build homes are much more thermally efficient and airtight. We fit modern, double-glazed windows that are highly efficient in terms of insulation that reduces heat loss and saves on energy usage.

We have worked with an energy consultant to assess and improve the energy efficiency

and sustainability of the homes we build. As a result, each house will have their own solar panels. Properties at The Paddocks will also benefit from other energy efficiency options which promote sustainability and reduces energy costs.

All properties here come with a 7kW (mode 3) electric vehicle charging point at no extra cost.

In addition, we incorporate smart thermostats, 100% of our lights are energy efficient, and our homes include dual-flush toilets.

The above technologies have been implemented to future proof your new home. Please ask your Sales Advisor for more information about these sustainable elements.
