She is big middled with perfect sweep to her underline. She has great hair coming out of the 100 degree heat of Nebraska and we expect will have shag like the crossbreds this winter. There is one spot we would like to change on her, but with her great hair, when she is properly fit, judges will never notice. Study her mothers photo, she will make a great cow! I figured out a show calf in a competitive home would get rinsed or washed about 300 - 350 times in its show life. That is a lot of time looking at one wet. Most look horrible wet! Not this Creed heifer, her build and structure is PERFECT! She looks as good on the rack wet as she does fluffed and puffed in the picture pen. Creed was Kevin’s favorite at Colburns in California, he was the maternal brother to Primo, and the following are maternal sisters: the Guyer Heifer that won Illinois, the Nowatzke Heifer That won Louisville, Kansas City, and Denver along with the Freere heifer that was just named supreme champion at the 2018 Indiana State Fair. Creed (pictured above) died prematurely and unexpectedly. Might want to get in on this heifer, Mears Family has others from this flush but they are being retained for cows!

Hello friends,

My mantra this summer has been “STOP THE CLOCK”. I sure remember being a kid and the older folks always telling me…. Don’t be in a hurry to be 16 and get to drive, don’t be in a hurry to be 18 and be an “Adult”, don’t be in a hurry to go to college, take it slow and enjoy High School… Don’t be in a hurry to be 21 and drink alcohol….

Well at least buy it legally …. You get the point… Never at any point in my young, dumb life did I EVER , EVER, NEVER EVER believe any of them! But man oh man were they right… I think I just unpacked my suitcase from Beef Expo last week! But they were so right; here we are ready for the next fall sale season kick-off event, the RC Early Bird.

What a fancy set of cattle we are going to offer to you at the Rutan farm on the 1st.

As always, it’s a diverse set of both females and steers, in both breeds and types. I don’t care what you are looking for, elite show heifer prospect, the kind that can run competitively at the Jackpot or one to make a great cow, she will sell on the 1st.

While we are not “Steer Jocks” , if your looking for a top steer we are LOADED this year… trust us when we say you want to see this set, every year several of our steers sell to traders who often double even triple their money. As in the past we sell these cattle for fair even modest prices, and that’s one of the reasons year after year so many of our cattle sell to repeat customers.
