Meet lumendrive™ technology What is lumendrive™?

Lumendrive powers LEDs with AC voltage, while still allowing full digital dimming and control. By dispensing with a power supply, the technology provides multiple benefits, including greater efficiency, smaller size and a lifetime no longer restricted by third-party components.

How does it work?

Lumendrive monitors the AC waveform, and turns LEDs on and off as the AC voltage increases and decreases. In effect, the voltage is being divided into portions and distributed to the various LEDs as it becomes available along the course of the sin wave. This is what allows the luminaire to be run directly off the AC mains, without having to use a power supply to convert from AC to DC.

By removing the power supply, we have been able to shrink the footprint of the luminaire without sacrificing sustainability or reliability.

Competing cove solutions attempt to manage size by embedding power supply electronics on the back of the LED board, which causes thermal and durability issues.
