8th Dec ’15 to 20th Nov ’16 In this special Year of Mercy, how good it is to embrace Divine Mercy Sunday. The message itself, reminds us of what the Church has always taught; that God is merciful and forgiving and that we too must show mercy and forgiveness – and the Year of Mercy, echoes that.

The Holy Father speaks constantly of each of us encountering Christ, touching the grandeur of His Mercy and so being shaped by His Grace.

Divine Mercy

Sunday Today 3rd April All are encouraged to celebrate the Feast by joining us for Devotions at 1.30pm and Mass at 3pm. Confession is available at all Masses and also from 1.30pm to just before the 3pm Mass.

There will be a booklet for your use, but the hymns are also in our new hymnal. Please note, every effort will be made to offer you the chance to receive absolution in the Sacrament of Confession. A good number of you will have completed the Novena which we started as a parish on Good Friday. As part of your devotion to Divine Mercy, Adoration, Confession and receiving Communion at Mass, make up important elements and these are all available today.

Jesus said to St. Faustina,(to whom He entrusted the message):

“…My heart overflows with great mercy for souls…I desire to heal it [mankind], pressing it to my Merciful Heart…”

Come to the Fount of Life

Lord have mercy on those you have called from this life. Also,we continue to remember those whose anniversaries occur at this time. May their souls be at peace in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Collection - Thank you

The Easter Sunday collection was one of the two collections each year, dedicated to the SUPPORT of PRIESTS. Thank you for kindness and generosity and for the many Easter cards, chocolates and other gifts. Holy Thursday

was for the Seminary Fund to support those in formation for the priesthood. Good Friday was for Friends of the Holy Land. Thank you for supporting these collections.

Parish news Parish Hymn Books The new books are now in use.

There are some differences and updates from our current book.

They are paperbacks with a plastic protective cover. They carry the Church label and we kindly ask that these are not taken away from the Church.

Also, please do not remove the protective cover. If we treat the books with care, they ought to last a very long time. Thank you.

Parish Centre Works The Parish Finance Committee Members viewed the progress of the works on Thursday. As you are aware, we have faced some unexpected additional works and costs, but are still working towards substantive project completion, late Apr/early May 2016. Please pray for the successful outcome of the project. Thank you.

The Church will continue to be busy, especially today, Divine Sunday. We do thank you for your continued co-operation regarding:

Safeguarding for children & vulnerable adults • Health, safety & security • Parking changes These are important at all times, and especially when the Church is busy.

It is essential that the forecourt has free access for Clergy, emergency vehicles and blue badge holders as well as Church-goers on foot.

No blocking in, please, even if you are delayed in coming to Mass.
