SMC SAYS TO BULLYING
Taking a Stand
In Term 1, the Student Engagement team delivered an Anti-Bullying campaign across the College. The team delivered important messages to the students each week on assembly, re-inforced messages about reporting bullying and being an upstander not a bystander. They also gave students temporary tattoos with the messaging “SMC Says No Way to Bullying”.

Old Boy, Ben Loxley spoke on assembly about being bullied, being a bully and witnessing bullying, before all the students enjoyed a sausage sizzle lunch together.

St Mary’s College is an inclusive community and bullying has no place here!

Top Blokes
In Term 2, a select group of Year 7 and 9 students participated in the “Top Blokes” program.

At St Mary’s College, we are aware of the mixed messages that boys receive, as well as the pressures they face, throughout their schooling.
We are always looking for programs to support their needs and we discovered “Top Bokes”.
The team have developed an education and awareness program to support young men. They address issues such as violence, relationships, anger management, healthy minds, masculinity and peer pressure.
