BE THE LIGHT WInTEr SolsTIcE WalknTEr SolsTIcE Walk

All AGES Westwood Hills Nature Center, 8300 W. Franklin Ave. We will use this shortest day of the year to help us remember that many in our community aren’t able “to see the light” because of struggles with mental illness or difficult situations. We can help to be the light for those who need it, and guide them to take their first “steps” out of the darkness. Activities include a self-guided luminary trail and making your own luminary. Saturday Sampler

AGES 16+ The Rec Center Banquet Room, 3700 Monterey Drive Check out fun ways to keep moving this winter by sampling fitness classes we will be offering this winter into spring. Each class has high and low-impact options. Work major muscles with your own body weight. Attend one or all of these free sampler classes. NEw YEar's GnomE SEarcEw Y H ALL AGES Various parks Each week in January a different New Year's gnome will be placed in one of the city's parks. Once a gnome is placed in a park, it will remain there until the end of January. Clues will be given out each week on Tuesday morning on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram (@stlouispark), as well as GovDelivery to help you locate the different gnomes. It is said that those who snap a photo with one of the New Year's gnomes will have some of its good luck transferred to them! Share your photos with us through Facebook, Twitter and Instagram by posting them in the comments section of our weekly clue posts.

Creative Movement – Pre-ballet

AGES 3 – 5 The Rec Center Banquet Room, 3700 Monterey Drive Participants will stretch, tumble and develop their gross motor skills through fun games, stories and a positive environment. This introductory class will teach students age-appropriate skills that will improve their body strength and control while encouraging safety, group interaction and peer encouragement. Holiday Ornament Making Party

Your little one will love getting messy with mosaics, creating with clay and painting in wacky ways. We’ll even make our own puffy paint so we can paint yummy-looking ice cream cones on reach canvas boards. Get ready, get set and let’s go make a MESS!
