Tracy Edwards, a recent graduate of Hazelwood Central High School, was offered a full scholarship to Hampton University in Virginia. Edwards plans to study either biomedical or optical physics. Edwards was offered the scholarship while attending the National Association of Black Physicists conference, for which she also won a scholarship to attend.
Tucker Business College Alumni presented their final scholarship award to Harris-Stowe State University at the Awards Day Ceremony. Tucker Business College was founded in St. Louis by Mrs. Blanche L.O. Tucker in 1921 and was the first business college for African-American women to study secretarial science in the United States. Mrs. Tucker’s portrait will be displayed in the Anheuser-Busch Business College at HSSU.
