âWe pray for unity and oneness â and, Lord, I know thatâs a tall order,â said Rev. James Stewart, senior pastor of Murchison Tabernacle CME Church. A group organized by the St. Louis County NAACP gathered in the church on Sunday, July 8 for a prayer service as the broken relationship between law enforcement and the black community played out before the eyes of the world â and resulted in a week of nonstop violence, protest and heartache.
