Princess Sunshine And the hick-em-ups

There once was a pretty, pretty princess who was happy (almost) all the time.

Her beautiful smile made everyone around her so happy, they called her Princess Sunshine.

The only things that made her sad were two bullies called the Hick-Em-Ups.

They poked her and pinched her and made her cry.

It was like a dark cloud came over Princess Sunshine.

She never asked the Hick-Em-Ups to come over to play. She didn’t invite them to her pretty parties. But, because they were bullies, they came anyway.

Her mom, the queen, was very upset. She did not like what the Hick-Em-Ups did to her pretty, pretty princess. But she could not keep them away.

When

The queen asked the kingdom’s wisest wizard for help. Her name was Elaine.

Wizard Elaine saw how the HickEm-Ups bullied Princess Sunshine, she knew just what to do.

She reached into her magic bag and brought out a big sack of sugar.

“Sugar is sweet,“ Elaine said. “Bullies hate everything sweet. This will keep them away.“

The wise wizard was right. The sugar was too sweet for the Hick-Em-Ups. They never came around again.

And now Princess Sunshine was happy all the time!
