Now that the COVID-19 vaccine is available for anyone over the age of 12 in the State of Georgia, SmartSenior has decided to review our appointment policy. SmartSenior members will no longer be required to make an appointment for services at the office such as secure document shredding, borrowing books at the lending library, photo copying, notary services and laminations. You will still be required to call and register for any activities, classes or seminars. With this in mind, SmartSenior’s computer lab will remain closed at this time. We will continue to evaluate this on a regular basis so that when were-open this service, it will be safe for all. Rules and guidelines are changing daily as we progress through this pandemic, which is bringing us closer to pre-COVID-19 times! The staff at SmartSenior welcomes you to stop by our office at your convenience for any office services needed. However, now that we are not requiring appointments, we would like to remind you of our operating hours. SmartSenior is open Monday – Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the office closing daily at 12 noon – 1:00 p.m. for lunch. On occasion, our hours may vary due to a seminar, activity or event that will require the office to be closed. You are encouraged to look at our events on page 3 or call (912)352-4405 to check on the office availability. We thank you for your continued patience as St. Joseph’s/Candler and SmartSenior continue to evaluate our offerings to ensure your utmost safety. SmartSenior members must continue to wear a mask (you must provide your own mask) when coming to the office for services or for activities regardless of whether you have been vaccinated or not. This is currently the policy St. Joseph’s/ Candler is following based on CDC guidelines for hospitals and CMS regulations. When this restriction is lifted, we will let you know. In addition to our policy change, St. Joseph’s/Candler has also updated the visitation policy at both hospital campuses. Visitors must enter through the main lobby of each hospital. Visitors may purchase food items in the cafeteria or café’s “to go” but must return to the patient room with the items. Extended visitation hours are now 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. SmartSenior is excited to announce these changes and we are looking forward to seeing you in PERSON!
