St Joseph’s College

Building for the Future

Introduction There is a shared energy, vision and drive at St Joseph’s College. The aim is to create the independent school of choice both locally and beyond, representing excellent value for money in an environment that both existing and prospective families are proud to be associated with. St Joseph’s is a special place with a unique ethos. The College is highly regarded for its academic and sporting achievement, as well as the quality of its boarding, pastoral care and extra-curricular provision. The aim of this document is to ensure that St Joseph’s College remains equally well known for its buildings and grounds, including modern, cutting-edge facilities, with accommodation that enhances teaching and learning. After acquiring the freehold of its 60-acre site the College carried out an estate and buildings’ audit in liaison with external consultants. The findings of this audit, in conjunction with the School’s future needs, have shaped this aspect of our Development Plan. ‘Building for the Future’ is consistent with the College’s strategic aim of ensuring the highest quality educational provision on a campus where facilities are maintained and improved. This underpins a rewarding and enriching student experience. ‘Building for the Future’ includes a vision for the whole campus, along with information on a range of specific developments, which will be supported by strong recruitment and retention strategies. The aim is to constantly maximise the potential of the College’s assets. We hope that you share our excitement, as we embark together on a new and exciting stage of development for the College, whilst at the same time staying true to our values and traditions and retaining all of the unique elements of the school that makes it ‘St Joseph’s College, Ipswich’.
