RISING SENIOR INFORMATION

BEHIND THE SCENES
The yearbook is a historical document, reflecting the community of St Joseph Academy that you are a part of. As such, the following rules and guidelines will be enforced by administration, yearbook advisors, and yearbook staff through review, revision, and editing before it is submitted for printing

Included in this packet are forms you will need to complete and return to the yearbook advisor by the appropriate deadlines.
You will also find tutorials and guides for how to complete certain requirements, from scheduling your summer photoshoot to purchasing and designing a Senior Ad

CASUALS & CAP & GOWN

CASUAL PORTRAITS
Bring at least one extra outfit for your photoshoot, regardless of what package you order! This is referred to as your "Senior Casual" which is the photo the SJA yearbook staff features with your Senior Biography! Bring props that show off your unique hobbies, personality, interests, and more! Even pets of all shapes and sizes are encouraged to come along as long as they are watched by a responsible adult when not being photographed

DRESS CODE TIPS
CAP & GOWN

Cap & Gown photos will also be offered at your summer session. Don't miss this opportunity to take advantage of every opportunity to celebrate your accomplishments and share this moment with family and friends. Many families enjoy sending cap and gown photos included in graduation announcements for family and friends
The rules for formal portraits apply to casual portraits as well as additional guidelines If there are any words or images on your clothing, it must be appropriate for SJA Clothes must be in good shape without holes or rips and be appropriately modest according to handbook guidelines i e homecoming dance, jeans days, costumes, No spaghetti straps or strapless tops, no revealing midriffs, etc Shorts, skirts, and dresses should be no higher than 4 inches above the knee Blatant disregard for these rules will result in your senior biography getting published in the yearbook without a picture Although Leonard’s Studios can do some touch‐ups, they cannot “fix” strap marks, sunburn, or a dress code violation for the yearbook pose

SHARING PHOTOS

The file also needs to be high quality and large enough to print without pixelation. Please only submit ONE baby photo Once uploaded to the website, please make sure you TAG your senior's full first and last name with proper spelling
FRESHMEN PHOTO

BIOGRAPHIES & QUOTES
Biography
Senior biographies are the special section of the yearbook where readers will get to know more about each senior's life, interests, hobbies, and hopes for the future. Yearbook staff members interview each senior as part of their course requirements and use this interview as the source material to write each senior biography. The attached biography form is necessary for yearbook staff members to create authentic interview questions based on your responses. Discuss the prompts as a family to help us tailor your senior bio to your unique personality! Senior career goals reflect the professionalism our graduates have developed and must be kept to a specific major, category, or job position.
Quotes
Quotes are optional as our yearbook staff is focused on journalism course requirements and accurate reporting. The ideal quote is one that is spoken by you during your senior interview. We want to quote YOU!

All quotes must align with the Mission and Vision Statements of SJA in both content and origin. If you do not attribute the quote to the correct person, provide one by the deadline set by yearbook staff, or the quote is deemed inappropriate, the yearbook staff will reject the quote and either select a bible verse for you or leave the area blank.
Yearbook advisors and administration will determine final approval of all quotes and senior biographies, so early completion and return of your forms will make the process go smoothly for review and approval

SENIOR QUOTE FORM
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Please read, discuss, and complete this form together with your child in order to submit their senior quote for approval. Seniors, your quote should be the result of much forethought and consideration so it represents you at your best We want you all to be proud of this now, tomorrow, and for the rest of your life.
SJA MISSION STATEMENT:
As a Catholic high school in the Diocese of St Augustine, we seek to provide an equal opportunity for each student, in a challenging academic environment, to become a knowledgeable, self-directed, compassionate Christian, able to face the challenges of the future with faith, hope, and love.
What is the purpose of a Senior Quote?
VISION STATEMENT:
St. Joseph Academy graduates will be morally responsible persons with a well-developed commitment to social justice and an enhanced faith in Jesus Christ. They will be ready to face the 21st century historically grounded by a rigorous educational experience.
Your senior quote should express something about yourself, something unique and individual to you or your worldview
You give meaning to the quote rather than letting someone else’s words define who you are.
What is the legacy you want to leave for others? What are the good things you want people to remember about you when you have gone?
What are the good things you want to remember about yourself years from now when you open your yearbook again to reflect on how you spent your high school years and what you were like back then?
The yearbook is an artifact and permanent record of this moment in your life It is also an official school record, the content of which must align with the mission and vision statements included above.
I do not want a quote for the yearbook, leave it blank
I want yearbook staff/advisor to suggest a quote from my interview
