THE CONCEPT Nigeria Youth to Business Forum is the first event of its kind in Nigeria inside and outside AIESEC that brings together both young and senior leaders to form a diverse cross-sector and multigenerational space for inspiring conversations around pressing global issues. The forum aims to create an environment where people from diverse backgrounds can cross-pollinate ideas, share insights and gain new perspectives to create actionable outcomes to push the world forward.

Leaders will be able to access youth who offer valuable insights into the present state, and what the future may look like based on the leadership and behaviors of the next generation. Come ready with your biggest problems, and seek for inspiration to solutions!

It’s an environment that helps foster fresh creativity and new perspectives to tackling problems, and by challenging you and the present status quo it will help inspire the creation of your next big idea.

WHAT MAKES YOUTH TO BUSINESS UNIQUE? Unlike any other forum, Youth to Business is mainly focused on creating actions steps following the conversations, rather than just talking about pressing social issues.

The Forum generates the Youth to Business Output of concrete ideas and actions, which will be collected and circulated to our network of 14 University Offices, our large alumni community9 and our partner groups.

The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) were adopted in 2000 and are supposed to have been attained by 2015.For us in Nigeria, it is important that we have a genuine debate over the coming months that goes beyond a list of goals and targets not bound together by a coherent narrative which is consistent with the challenges facing our development process. Nigeria still lags behind and it is now clear that we are unlikely to be able to meet any of the goals by 2015.

Nigeria has already engaged the Post 2015 Development Agenda with the launching of Vision 2020 in 2009 as our blueprint for economic transformation. The expected outcome of the policy is a high standard of living and quality of life for citizens. But there are key challenges we need to address to improve the lives and livelihoods of Nigerians ranging from Unemployment, Education, Poverty and Inequalities, Population Dynamics, Insecurity, Climate Change to corruption.

The drive to making it vital that all stakeholders especially youths and business leaders in 12 Nigeria engage with in mapping out priorities for the Post 2015 Development Agenda birth the theme; NIGERIA: Beyond 2015
