ANNUAL REPORT

2018

Dear all,

Message from our CEO

While we are so excited to celebrate our 30th year anniversary this coming 2019, we’d be remiss not to pause and reflect on what an eventful 29th year we had in serving the Oak Park Community through public education and economic development. St. HOPE Public Schools had a strong year marked by the qualification of universal free lunch, an award of $25 million dollars for a brand new facility at PS7 Elementary, the establishment of multiple elementary level electives such as art, music, and P.E., and a college field trip for scholars at every grade level. At Sacramento Charter High School 95% of senior scholars were accepted to a four-year university, and we saw network-wide gains on our state assessments. St. HOPE Development Company established relationships with tenants like SETA, Valley Vision, and Unseen Heroes who are all doing great work for the Oak Park Community. We also solidified plans to partner with Lo-Lo’s Chicken and Waffles, completing the original vision for 40 Acres Cultural Center. This year we made several major renovations to our buildings at 3400 Third Ave., the Oak Park Victorian, and even created Esther’s Park. We thank all of our teachers, scholars, parents, community members, and supporters for championing us toward success this year. We could not do this difficult work without you all, and look forward to celebrating 30 years of HOPE with you. Sincerely, Jake Mossawir

The Common Core State Standards enhance rigor and critical thinking in the classroom and help ensure all scholars gain the skills necessary to move to and through college. The Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) provides our teachers with measures of achievement that contribute to a holistic view of individual scholar progress. See below for the 2017-2018 school year results.
