// S haping young lives THE FIRST SMALL STEP OF MANY As an educator of many years, I have had the joy of seeing the positive impact education has on young women on a daily basis. It informs who we are as adults – our relationships, our success in our careers, how we adapt to challenging situations. It shapes our lives. A St Hilda’s education teaches our girls that the possibilities are endless and that creativity and uniqueness are necessary to greatness. This lesson is taught in all areas of the school. Our girls value personal excellence and recognise that excellence is never an accident but the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skilful execution. They have the vision to see obstacles as opportunities and appreciate that every great accomplishment is the result of a thousand small steps. I look forward to meeting you and your daughter soon.

// It is all around us

THE SPIRIT OF ST HILDA’S It’s the serious game face at the starting line, and the warm smiles and friendships at the finish. It’s the dedication to self-improvement, to being your best, not necessarily the best. It’s having the confidence to be yourself, overcome challenges, stand up for what you believe in and never give up. And it’s nurtured in each and every St Hilda’s student.

educating girls since 1896

// Sparking extraordinary futures A LEGACY OF LEADING THE WAY The Spirit of St Hilda’s can be traced back to 1896, with the School’s humble beginnings in a private Claremont house. We provided opportunities for girls in a time where opportunities were limited. Back then, certain subjects like Science and Maths were considered too difficult for girls. We didn’t let that stop us, with the introduction of Biology in 1915, and then Physics in 1922. With over 125 years of history in sparking extraordinary futures for girls, our purpose is to inspire inventive and adaptive thinkers with a curiosity for learning. Focusing on academic excellence, cocurricular activities, and pastoral care, the school is renowned for its strong commitment to empowering young women and providing them with the skills and confidence they need to succeed in life.

// Opportunities to shine SPACE TO DISCOVER

Chidley Campus The early years in a child’s development are some of the most important, which is why we believe that every moment counts. Our Junior School campus has been designed to provide the best possible learning environment. With 3 hectares of space and many nature play areas, our students’ education isn’t limited to the classroom. A strong foundation is supported by specialist learning programs that enrich the development of the whole child.

Bay View Campus Our Senior School campus has evolved over time to cater to modern teaching approaches. However, it’s not the buildings that create confident and compassionate young women, it’s what happens inside them. We cultivate a learning community that is curious and adaptive. Students are challenged to find their passions and strive for personal excellence. We ensure all members of our learning community are supported academically, mentally and emotionally.

// Where imaginations roam free SAME SPIRIT, DIFFERENT PATHS The Spirit of St Hilda’s means students share some common traits, values and goals, yet they are still all treated as individuals with their own journey. Our personalised learning approach provides each student with the opportunity to progress, to build skills and move seamlessly to the next challenge at their own pace. Our highly skilled educators are committed to overcoming barriers to learning by creating a vibrant, creative and dynamic learning environment. Learning how to learn is an important life skill that benefits our students beyond the classroom. We encourage girls to be creative, critical thinkers and self-motivated learners who set goals and work hard to achieve them.

Astronomy Club, Cadets, the Rowing Team, or competing on the international stage; no matter what interests they pursue, we take pride in encouraging students and celebrating their achievements.

// Genuine relationships A SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY

Students get relevant advice from Old Scholars across a range of fields at the Mentors and Muesli event.

It radiates throughout our community, from the strong bonds and lifelong friendships of our students and Old Scholars, to our supportive Parents and Friends Association. Whether it’s a leadership seminar for recent graduates, a 60 year reunion, or the annual P&F Sundowner, the Spirit of St Hilda’s goes beyond the playground. We especially value our role in the wider community, with our students understanding just how fortunate they are and donating their time to various local charities as part of our community service program.
