But before I start my top picks of this brochure, I’d like to say thank you, from all of the volunteers, staff and management. The fact you are reading this means that you are at least considering getting involved with us here at St. George’s, whether it be buying a ticket, passing on information about a show to a friend or perhaps you’re simply sipping a coffee in the café. The support of those who live in the Borough is what keeps your local theatre open 52 weeks a year. Not only are we supported by our customers but also by our army of volunteers who work on our box office, theatre bar and front of house to make sure you are all welcomed with a smile. Because of their hard work we have achieved our Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence, which we are very proud of.

So what have got on this Autumn & Winter Season?

Well something for everyone we hope, our line-up includes live ballet, musical classic The Little Shop of Horrors, top comedy from the likes of Russel Kane & Hal Cruttenden, the winter beer festival and of course much more.

Also our cinema has a full programme, with everything from the classics to family films, live theatre and speciality nights.

Then once you’ve thrown in a handful of popular tributes to Adele, The Eagles, Bon Jovi with a mix of live music from local artists The Stereotypes, Ron Sayer, Hayley Moss and Benjamin Lake your spoilt for choice.

Then to end the year and celebrate Christmas, our Panto Team return for their 5th year with Dick Whittington and his Cat! In addition to our shows and events we are proud to say our Arts Academy will be returning in September and at the same time our new Community Choir will begin. FAMILY FESTIVAL OF MAGIC - TWO DAYS OF FREE ENTERTAINMENT

Tuesday 22nd & Wednesday 23rd August, 11am – 4pm Outdoor on the Theatre Plaza St George’s Theatre and the Gathering proudly present the first Family Magic Festival. Join us over two days for free entertainment including Punch and Judy, the clowning around and of course, magic! Saturday 16th September Live music comes to St George’s Plaza in this year’s Out There Festival. SeaChange, in partnership with Norwich Arts Centre and Access to Music, have put together a sensational line-up of seven of the regions finest young musical talents. From Suffolk, there’s up and coming 4-piece, Mopintosh and Becca Rose. From Norwich punk outfit, Ducking Punches and singer/songwriters, Aphra and Finn Doherty. Thetford’s Franko Fraise brings tales of everyday life while Great Yarmouth’s own Mullally provides soulful sounds.

She started busking in the summer of 2015 and within minutes a crowd gathered, in awe of the heavenly notes she sent echoing through the streets of Norwich. Friday 17th November, Bar Open at 7:30pm, Doors Open at 8pm, Show starts at 8:30pm Hate n’ Live panel show continues to sell out across the country after conquering the Edinburgh comedy festival. It brings out the best and sometimes the darkest sides of comics who are challenged to remark off the cuff about how they hate the subjects drawn out of hat.

FESTIVAL OF REMEMBRANCE

Saturday 11th November, 2pm and 4:30pm The poignant commemoration, to mark the end of the First World War. Last year’s festival once again drew a full house and was a roaring success and this year should be no different.

Join us here at St George’s Theatre at either 2pm or 4.30pm for a collection of live patriotic music, readings and poems. All Proceeds from this event will go towards the Royal British Legion and the Salvation Army as well as the St George’s Theatre Trust Charity.

SONGS OF REMEMBRANCE

Sunday 12th November, 4pm “Songs of Remembrance” is a nostalgic and humorous commemoration to music; singers and comedians that helped win the war. The cast of singers, actors and dancers pay a sentimental tribute to the popular songs of the time and take the audience on a trip down Memory Lane, which includes music, comedy, sketches and poems that played such a big part in keeping up the morale of servicemen as well as everybody at home.
