Weekends in Boarding

Active Saturdays, restorative Sundays. Adventures in between

Weekends offer the perfect blend of activity, exploration and downtime. Saturday mornings typically include sports fixtures for those taking part, with supervised study or free-choice activities for others.

Each weekend features an outing or experience; from ice-skating and theatre trips to chocolate-making workshops, Windsor walks, golf tasters and more.

Sundays are calmer and designed for rest and reset. Girls can join an optional fitness session, enjoy a relaxed brunch, take part in afternoon activities, and round off the day with an optional Fun Swim session.

The weekend finishes with quiet time to get organised for the week ahead, the ideal balance of fun, friendship and wellbeing.

Senior Boarding Activities

Our Senior Boarders (Years 11 – Sixth Form) can take part in additional focus sessions throughout the term. An extended programme designed with older pupils in mind, offering more independence, maturity and choice, while still connecting them to the rest of the boarding community.

Alongside the full weekly schedule, seniors have additional evening sessions and some occasional weekend outings tailored to their interests, from wellbeing workshops and life-skills sessions to cultural trips and social events. This uplifted programme gives senior girls the space to grow in confidence, lead activities and develop real-world skills.

We encourage healthy habits around technology because we believe that removing digital distractions helps our girls be more present, build deeper friendships, focus on study and fully enjoy boarding life.

This year marks a year since St George’s embraced a phone-free approach during the school day, using Yondr pouches, a shift that has had a profoundly positive impact on pupils’ wellbeing. We are proud to have achieved Silver Level in the national Smartphone Free Schools Rating scheme, recognising our commitment to creating an environment where technology use is balanced.
