October 2017
By the time you will receive this message, our parish along with countless other parishes around the world would have celebrated the Feast of Saint Francis and the Blessing of the Animals. But that not being enough, it is with a full heart that we welcome The Reverend Deacon Andrew (Drew) Harmon and his family, Anna (wife) and Bonnie and Frances (daughters) to our Saint Francis parish family. Drew has been called to serve Saint Francis as my assistant. He comes to us as a transitional deacon, to be ordained to the priesthood in the near future as well as a newly minted PhD. graduate from Marquette University, Milwaukee. I could not be happier to welcome Drew and his family into our parish community as I am sure you are the same.
THE REV. MILTON C. WILLIAMS, JR.
Drew’s primary responsibilities will cover the disciplines of Adult Christian Formation, New Membership Incorporation and Mission and Outreach along with preaching, pastoral care and in addition, that famous phrase, “all other responsibilities assigned by the rector”. Our parish church community of Saint Francis is an amazing community. The more I learn about the person of our patron saint, Francis, the more certain I am that God is calling us as a community of faith to be a transformative power to those we are called to serve, many near and some far away. In all that we do, it is my prayer that we would faithfully follow Christ as our Lord and live in the spirit of our blessed patron, Francis. Faithfully, Fr. Milton
