Welcome to the all new South Cliff Holiday Park magazine, with two issues a year - summer and winter. Bursting with exciting new features, discount vouchers and an amazing competition to win a holiday in one of our new luxury lodges.

There are many great ideas to help plan your 2019 holiday. We hope you like it as much as we do.

As you may already be aware, we are currently carrying out a mutli-million pound expansion of the holiday park. The new development is situated on land to the right of our current site. The brand new holiday park expansion is planned to open in Spring 2019 and we are currently taking bookings from May onwards.

There are opportunities for holiday home and lodge ownership, with holiday options available for touring, motorhomes, camping, glamping and holiday home/ lodge hire.

Take a look inside this issue and on our website to see our new facilities. There is always something to do in Bridlington, come rain or shine; our handy guide will help you plan your stay with us.

What's new at...

The multi-million pound new look for South Cliff Holiday Park is well under way – creating a brand new site from Spring 2019, for holiday home/lodge ownership, touring, motorhomes, camping, glamping and holiday home/lodge hire.

The Holiday Park is set in the picturesque East Riding countryside, just a few miles outside the beautiful seaside town of Bridlington, and a short walk from the stunning South Cliff Beach, from where you can catch the land train into town.

If you have ever dreamed of that luxury holiday home or lodge – now is your chance!

South Cliff Holiday Park offers spacious pitches, piped gas, hot tubs on some pitches, parking area for two cars and individual recreation areas next to your holiday home/lodge, all set in beautiful surroundings. Speak to one of our advisors to see just how affordable this is for you and your family.

Why not let your caravan make you money whilst you’re not using it? Our staff will be happy to explain our exclusive subletting offer.

HOT TUBS Indulge in a little luxury on your next holiday with a hot tub break. You can relax and unwind in a private outdoor hot tub while stargazing or enjoying the secluded natural woodland views, with a drink in your hand. Perfect for a romantic break or a family holiday.

For our holiday customers, make your choice of accommodation, or bring your touring caravan, motorhome or tent, benefiting from larger pitches, improved service connections including super pitches, and also longer pitches which can take a motorhome of any size.

Here at South Cliff Holiday Park, we also recognise that your pet is part of the family. From 2019 we will be accepting dogs on to our park and will offer specific scenic dog walking areas.

We want your children to have a great time with us, so we will have brand new play areas and nature trails through our enclosed woodland, to stimulate their imaginations and let them run wild! All the family can try out the new Pump Cycle Track, too.

ACCESSIBLE HOLIDAY HOME As a part of our new range we have one accessible holiday home.

The holiday home is part of our deluxe range. From roomy proportions to easy access, every detail is thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of those who require a helping hand.

Accessibility is at the heart of this home.

ADVENTURE PLAY AREA The all new adventure play area is perfect for children of all ages.

The large structure includes a tower to climb up, slides, swings, a zip line, and a range of other challenges.

DOG FRIENDLY HOLIDAY PARK* You can now bring your dog with you on your touring/motorhome/camping holiday to share the countryside walks, the stroll on the beach and cliffs or just to relax with your best pal by your side.

PUMP TRACK The kids are going to love our all new pump track, an off-road terrain cycle track consisting of a circuit of banked turns and mounds which will keep the kids entertained for hours on end.

South Cliff Holiday Park is ideally positioned to be able to cater for your perfect holiday. From an action-packed family holiday to relaxing family breaks and fun-filled getaways, we have a holiday to suit everyone in the travelling party so nobody feels left out.

RELAXATION BECKONS

FOODIE HEAVEN

When it’s time to relax, take in the beaches, enjoy an ice cream or visit a café with stunning views across Bridlington bay. Go further afield and enjoy the famous North Yorkshire Moors Railway which runs from Pickering to Whitby. How about a gentle stroll on the promenade to round off your day?

Bridlington is rightly famous for its award-winning fish and chip shops, many with superb sea views. The town also has a thriving shellfish industry - sample locally caught produce at stalls and shops in the area. Friendly local pubs and cafés offer a wide range of delights, or travel a little further to Hull or Beverley for restaurants to suit all tastes.

CULTURE VULTURES Take the land train to beautiful Sewerby Hall and Gardens along the clifftops, or to a concert/event at Bridlington Spa. The East Riding has a great choice of stately homes and each home has a unique collection of historical items from Amy Johnson memorabilia to Chippendale furniture. Nearby Beverley has a fascinating art gallery and museums.

WATER BABIES

THRILL SEEKERS

The Splash Zone at East Riding Leisure Bridlington, is a really great value option to keep the kids entertained. The fun pool features two interactive slides, a water play structure with a giant tipping bucket. There is also an area with two smaller slides for the little ones.

Don’t miss spectacular Flamborough Head and the lighthouse, and visit the beautiful caves at North Landing. Walk some of the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds Way, or try skydiving at Rudston.

Bridlington offers thrilling speedboat rides from the harbour, and further down the coast, visit rugged and isolated Spurn Point on safari. For the more adventurous look out for the exciting Active Coast events in the school holidays.

NATURE LOVERS The East Yorkshire coast is perfect for nature lovers – see puffins at the stunning RSPB Bempton Cliffs, plus gannets and other seabirds, or cruise on the Yorkshire Belle to see them from the sea.

Visit local Nature Reserves at Danes Dyke and Flamborough, or take in the sights from a clifftop walk.

Don’t forget the Living Seas Centre in Flamborough followed by rockpooling on the beach.

Rain or Shine...

There is so much to do in and around Bridlington, no matter what the weather!

AWARD WINNING BEACHES With miles of accessible golden sands you are sure to spend many hours topping up your tan and watching the kids play in the sea. Local to South Cliff you have unrestricted access for walking your dog, ask at the Welcome Centre for further details.

THE DEEP

CANDY KINGDOM

The Deep is one of the UK’s most spectacular aquariums, with over 3,500 fish, stunning marine life and plenty of activities for all the family. Open daily from 10am until 6pm.

John Bull’s Candy Kingdom’s fully air conditioned indoor adventure play centre is a purpose built soft play venue for children aged 0-12 years. Parents can relax with a cappuccino and a snack, while children climb and explore the soft play activities designed for their age group.

Last admission is at 5pm, although it is recommended you arrive no later than 4pm.

The Deep’s peak times are between 11am and 2pm, should you prefer a quieter environment please visit outside these times.

BRIDLINGTON SPA Offers a continuous programme of activity 364 days a year. The largest gig venue in the region and host of the best traditional pantomime for miles. Packed with a variety of performances from touring musicals and tribute shows to regular events such as Picturehouse, roller disco, tea dances and comedy shows.

PROMENADE Stroll along almost three miles of even promenade joining the North and South side of Bridlington via the harbour, the perfect way to enjoy a Summer’s day.

EAST RIDING LEISURE BRIDLINGTON This newly built leisure facility has everything you need to enjoy a full day of entertainment. The Splash Zone fun pool has two state-of-the art slides, toddler area and tipping bucket to name but a few. Then enjoy a spot of lunch at the café with panoramic views of the bay before practising your climbing skills on the Clip n’ Climb walls.

Alternatively you could always relax in the health suite after a workout in the gym. Booking is recommended during peak periods and holidays.

CHALET HIRE Enjoy the seafront from the luxury of one of many beach chalets, available to hire daily or weekly. It’s an ideal place to shelter from the wet weather, find out more online.

There are lots of things to do and see, from events happening on the beach to enjoying activities, which includes a paddling pool, volleyball nets and table tennis.

SEWERBY HALL AND GARDENS The zoo is the place to keep the children amused, home to an exciting range of over 60 mammals and birds. Firm favourites include Eclectus Parrot, Humboldt Penguins and the cute Raccoon Dogs.

After the success of the event in 2018, the Internationally supported BACKFIRE ‘Race the Waves’ will return to Bridlington this summer.

A holiday home can cost anything from £12,995 (on the existing park) to £79,995+ and our authorised dealers can arrange finance packages to help you spread the cost (subject to status). Luxury lodges start from £79,995.

As with any home there are running costs to cover your use of energy and amenities, for insurance and for care of our public areas. Site fees include local authority rates and water charges, however gas and electric is charged separately. You will also need to take out insurance to cover any unforeseen issues with your holiday home/lodge.

One way to offset some of these costs is to sublet your holiday home/lodge to holidaymakers – ask us for more details.

CHOOSING A HOLIDAY HOME Finding the right holiday home/lodge involves more than simply picking a style that you like. At South Cliff, our authorised dealers have a range of holiday homes and lodges for sale, so there’s something for all tastes and budgets. Make sure that you consider how you’ll be using the home:

INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR SELF-CATERING HOLIDAY: Please note that, unless stated otherwise, the holiday information and conditions of booking detailed here apply to any bookings with South Cliff Holiday Park, Pioneer Road, Wilsthorpe, Bridlington YO15 3QN. HOW TO SECURE YOUR BOOKING / MAKING CHANGES:

IF WE MAKE ANY MAJOR ALTERATIONS TO YOUR BOOKING:

VEHICLES AND PARKING:

To confirm a booking simply make a non-refundable deposit of £50 for Holiday Home, Lodge and Shepherd Hut accommodation and £10 nonrefundable deposit for Touring / Camping Pitches and Camping Cabins with the remaining balance payable 28 days before the holiday commencement date. Please note that payments not received by the due date will result in cancellation.

We try very hard to provide all facilities as advertised in our brochure and on our website. It may however be necessary to make some alterations in advance of your holiday. If such a change is necessary, we will endeavour to advise you as soon as possible, and give you the options in the section entitled ‘If we cancel your booking’.

Holidaymakers are not permitted to bring working vehicles onto the park.

This includes pick-up trucks, vans and open back trucks and all sign written / commercial vehicles. Only one car per pitch is permitted through the barriers.

All other vehicles must remain in one of the site car parks.

The total charge for the goods and services comprising your holiday will be clearly shown in your booking confirmation invoice. Please check that your holiday booking details in this

IF WE CANCEL YOUR BOOKING: We always endeavour not to change the date or cancel your booking, but in exceptional circumstances this may be necessary. We will inform you of the change of date or cancellation as soon as possible and give you the following options.

A maximum of 2 dogs per pitch. Owners are responsible for the behaviour of their dogs. We do not permit any dog listed on the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 onto the site. All dogs must be kept on a short lead whilst on park.

Dogs should be exercised off the park or designated dog walking areas.

Owners must ensure that their dogs do not foul the site and are responsible for cleaning up after them. If it is deemed that the dog is causing a nuisance or disturbance to others, their owner will be asked to remove the dog from the site. With the exception of assistance dogs, dogs are not permitted in the toilet blocks, holiday homes, lodges, shepherd huts or camping cabins. Dogs are not to be left unattended at any time. Dogs on ground stake tethers must not be left unattended at any time

We regret that we cannot give refunds for accident / breakdown on your journey to commence your holiday or for holidays cut short after arrival through accident / illness or any other reason. It is strongly recommended you obtain cancellation insurance to protect your deposit and the balance of payment in the event of cancellation or these eventualities.

If you have to cancel for reasons of death, illness, redundancy or injury to you or any member of your party, of death, illness or serious injury of a close relative after you have booked and before the start of your holiday, we will refund / credit your money paid as follows: a) Provided we receive written notice of a cancellation before your expected arrival date, we will refund all monies paid less deposit (£10 Touring / Camping Pitches / Camping Cabins, £50 Holiday Home Hire / Lodges / Shepherd Huts).

In all cases cancellation must be accompanied by Doctor’s Sick Note or other evidence as detailed below: Sickness – Doctor’s Sick Note, Redundancy - Employer’s notification, Hospitalisation - Doctor’s certificate showing hospital admission dates, Jury Service - Court notification, Bereavement - Death Certificate.

Cancellation policy excludes all promotional bookings where no refund will be given.

Management’s decision is final.

ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE TIMES: Holiday Home and Lodge Accommodation: Your accommodation is available on your holiday start date from 2pm for Premier and Lodge accommodation and 3pm for Standard and Deluxe.

You are welcome to use the park facilities until your accommodation is ready.

You will need to vacate your accommodation by 9.30am on the day of your departure.

Touring and Camping Pitches:

USE OF YOUR HOLIDAY HOME, LODGE, TOURING AND CAMPING PITCHES, CAMPING PODS AND SHEPHERD HUTS: Only those people listed on the booking can occupy your accommodation and use the facilities of the park. If this legal requirement is not met, your booking will be terminated and you will be asked to leave, with no refund made. If you have any friends who wish to visit you while you are staying with us, please see the Reception Team. It is illegal to smoke inside enclosed public buildings in England, Scotland and Wales. Outside smoking areas will be provided. We ask holidaymakers to refrain from smoking in the accommodation. We cannot guarantee smoke free accommodation or any holiday home/lodge to be free from allergens. Please note, assistance dogs may have been in hire holiday homes/lodges.

Pitches are available from 12 noon onwards on the day of your arrival.

We expect your pitch to be cleared by 11am on the day of your departure.

We are also happy to welcome you at the park before check in and you can make full use of the facilities. It may be possible to extend your stay up until 5pm on your day of departure depending on availability. Please check with reception on your departure day before 11am if you wish to stay longer.

Extended stays are subject to a small charge payable at the time of request.

For the convenience of our guests, we reserve the right to terminate the party’s holiday without compensation or refund, where the unreasonable behaviour of the persons in the holiday party might impair the enjoyment, comfort or health of other guests, our team members or staff. This may include but is not limited to verbal or physical abuse, and will be up to the management’s discretion.
